Abstract
The medicament for the prevention or the relief of poisoning by large clostridial cytotoxins (LCTs), in particular Clostridium difficile toxins A and B (TcdA and TcdB), is characterized by containing as active ingredient at least one effector, namely an inhibitor or activator of the autocatalytic protease activity of LCTs (large clostridial cytotoxins).

26 . Immunogenic composition comprising a protein or fragment thereof that comprises:
(a) DXG motif at position 1665 of SEQ ID NO 1, wherein SEQ ID NO 1 is a TcdB amino acid sequence, (b) amino acids 1653 to 1678 of SEQ ID NO 1, (c) amino acids 1500 to AS 1800 of SEQ ID NO 1, (d) DXG motif at position 1662 of SEQ ID NO 2, wherein SEQ ID NO 2 is a TcdA amino acid sequence, (e) amino acid positions AS 1651 to AS 1675 of SEQ ID NO 2, (f) DXG motif at position 1666 of SEQ ID NO 3, wherein SEQ ID NO 3 is a TcsL amino acid sequence; (g) amino acid positions AS 1654 to AS 1679 of SEQ ID NO 3, and/or (h) amino acid positions AS 1641 to AS 1665 SEQ ID NO 4, wherein SEQ ID NO 4 is a Tcnα amino acid sequence and, wherein (a)-(h) are each part of a protein region of a catalytic center of a protease function of a LCT and are each antigen active.
27 . The immunogenic composition of claim 26 , wherein protein or fragment thereof comprise:
(b), (c), (e), (g) and/or (h).
28 . Method of inducing an antibody response against LCT-toxin in a mammal comprising administering to said mammal an immunogenic composition in an antibody response inducing amount, wherein the immunogenic composition comprises:
(a) DXG motif at position 1665 of SEQ ID NO 1, wherein SEQ ID NO 1 is a TcdB amino acid sequence, (b) amino acids 1653 to 1678 of SEQ ID NO 1, (c) amino acids 1500 to AS 1800 of SEQ ID NO 1, (d) DXG motif at position 1662 of SEQ ID NO 2, wherein SEQ ID NO 2 is a TcdA amino acid sequence, (e) amino acid positions AS 1651 to AS 1675 of SEQ ID NO 2, (f) DXG motif at position 1666 of SEQ ID NO 3, wherein SEQ ID NO 3 is a TcsL amino acid sequence; (g) amino acid positions AS 1654 to AS 1679 of SEQ ID NO 3, and/or (h) amino acid positions AS 1641 to AS 1665 SEQ ID NO 4, wherein SEQ ID NO 4 is a Tcnα amino acid sequence, and wherein (a)-(h) are each part of a protein region of a catalytic center of a protease function of a LCT and each elicit the antibody response.
29 . The method of claim 28 , wherein the immunogenic composition comprises:

30 . The method of claim 28 , wherein the mammal is a human.
31 . The method of claim 29 , wherein the mammal is a human.
32 . The method of claim 28 , wherein the immunogenic composition is administered before LCT poisoning has occurred.
