Abstract
Methods of wireless communication and wireless transmit/receive units (WTRUs) are described. A WTRU includes a processor. The processor determines a location of the WTRU and whether an application is available to the WTRU based on the determined location of the WTRU. On a condition that the application is determined to be available to the WTRU based on the determined location of the WTRU, the processor initiates a registration to an application service hosting the application.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed:
1 . A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) comprising:
a processor and an associated memory configured to execute an application; in response to the application, the processor is configured to determine a location of the WTRU using location positioning; and when the WTRU is located in a store, the processor is configured to allow the WTRU to receive push notifications with respect to store offers based on the determined location of the WTRU within the store and to pay for a product or service.
2 . The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the location positioning uses Bluetooth.
3 . The WTRU of claim 2 , wherein the location positioning uses a plurality of devices with location parameters.
4 . The WTRU of claim 3 , wherein the location positioning consumes less power than GPS.
5 . The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the application uses communication with a server.
6 . The WTRU of claim 5 , wherein the application communicates with the server using a cellular connection.
7 . The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the store offers are promotional offers.
8 . The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein:
in response to the application, the processor is further configured to receive push notifications of in-store consumer information.
9 . The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the application is a peer-to-peer application.
10 . The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the application is a client-server application.
11 . A method performed by a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) comprising:
executing an application; in response to the application, determining a location of the WTRU using location positioning; and when the WTRU is located in a store, allowing the WTRU to receive push notifications with respect to store offers based on the determined location of the WTRU within the store and to paying for a product or service.
12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the location positioning uses Bluetooth.
13 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the location positioning uses a plurality of devices with location parameters.
14 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the location positioning consumes less power than GPS.
15 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the application uses communication with a server.
16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the application communicates with the server using a cellular connection.
17 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the store offers are promotional offers.
18 . The method of claim 11 , wherein:
in response to the application, receiving push notifications of in-store consumer information.
19 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the application is a peer-to-peer application.
20 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the application is a client-server application.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
