Claims

Abstract

A heating assembly can include a housing with a gas hook-up and an integrated nozzle structure. The nozzle structure can include a first nozzle and a second nozzle. The first nozzle and second nozzle can be concentrically positioned relative to each other. The first nozzle and second nozzle can be adjacent each other. The housing can also include a valve that has a first position in which flow is permitted through the first nozzle but not the second nozzle. The valve can have a second position in which flow is permitted through the first nozzle and the second nozzle.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A heater assembly comprising:
 a housing defining a first fuel source connection for receiving a first fuel type and a second fuel source connection for receiving a second fuel type;   an actuator positioned within the first fuel source connection;   a first nozzle longitudinally aligned with the actuator; and   an air shutter;   wherein the actuator is configured such that advancing a fitting into the first fuel source connection advances the actuator in a same longitudinal direction as the advancement of the fitting which advances the air shutter and/or first nozzle in the same longitudinal direction.   
     
     
         2 . The heater assembly of  claim 1 , further comprising a second nozzle that is concentrically positioned with respect to the first nozzle. 
     
     
         3 . The heater assembly of  claim 2 , wherein one or both of the first and second nozzles comprises a plurality of openings. 
     
     
         4 . The heater assembly of  claim 2 , wherein the first and second nozzles are positioned relative to the air shutter such that a flow of fuel moves past the first and second nozzles before receiving any air through the air shutter. 
     
     
         5 . The heater assembly of  claim 1 , further comprising a second nozzle that is not concentrically positioned with respect to the first nozzle. 
     
     
         6 . The heater assembly of  claim 1 , wherein the air shutter comprises a plate configured to moves with respect to the housing to change the amount of air that can flow into the housing to mix with a flow of fuel. 
     
     
         7 . The heater assembly of  claim 1 , wherein the air shutter is attached to the first nozzle such that advancement of the first nozzle changes the relationship between at least one opening on the air shutter and one opening on the housing to change the amount of air that can flow into the housing to mix with a flow of fuel. 
     
     
         8 . A heater assembly, comprising:
 a housing comprising:
 a first fuel source connection for receiving a first fuel type; 
 a second fuel source connection for receiving a second fuel type; 
 a nozzle structure incorporated into the housing, the nozzle structure comprising a first nozzle and a second nozzle and configured to convey a flow of fuel toward a burner; 
 an air shutter configured to allow air to pass into the flow of fuel, wherein the air shutter has a first position and a second position, the air shutter in the second position allowing an amount of air to pass into the flow of fuel that is different from the amount of air that passes into the flow of fuel when the air shutter is in the first position; and 
 an actuator positioned relative to the first fuel source connection such that connecting a first fuel source to the first fuel source connection causes the actuator to move the air shutter from the first position to the second position, and wherein the first fuel source connection, the actuator and the air shutter are longitudinally aligned. 
   
     
     
         9 . The heater assembly of  claim 8 , wherein the first and second nozzles are positioned concentrically with respect to each other. 
     
     
         10 . The heater assembly of  claim 8 , wherein when a first fuel source is connected to the first fuel source connection, the first fuel flows through the first nozzle but not the second nozzle. 
     
     
         11 . The heater assembly of  claim 8 , wherein when a second fuel source is connected to the second fuel source connection, the second fuel flows through the first nozzle and the second nozzle. 
     
     
         12 . The heater assembly of  claim 8 , wherein the air shutter in the second position allows less air to pass into the flow of fuel than the air shutter does in the first position. 
     
     
         13 . The heater assembly of  claim 8 , wherein the actuator moves the air shutter from the first position to the second position by translating a shutter linkage member. 
     
     
         14 . The heater assembly of  claim 8 , wherein the air shutter comprises a movable plate that partially defines a shutter window. 
     
     
         15 . The heater assembly of  claim 8 , wherein the air shutter comprises a shutter window and a linkage member that can move relative to the shutter window and that includes at least one opening providing access for air to join a flow of fuel through the nozzle structure. 
     
     
         16 . The heater assembly of  claim 8 , wherein the housing further comprises an outlet configured to direct fuel toward a control valve and an inlet configured to receive fuel from the control valve. 
     
     
         17 . The heater assembly of  claim 8 , further comprising a movable shutter linkage member coupled to one of the first fuel source connection and the second fuel source connection, wherein moving the shutter linkage member moves the air shutter from the first position to the second position. 
     
     
         18 . The heater assembly of  claim 8 , wherein the air shutter comprises a shutter window and a linkage member that can move relative to the shutter window, the linkage member including at least one opening that fluidly connects the shutter window with a flow of fuel through the nozzle structure. 
     
     
         19 . The heater assembly of  claim 8 , wherein the housing further comprises an outlet configured to direct fuel toward a control valve and an inlet configured to receive fuel from the control valve. 
     
     
         20 . The heater assembly of  claim 8 , wherein the first nozzle is longitudinally aligned with the first fuel source connection, the actuator and the air shutter.
