Figurine for a record player

Abstract

A decorative figurine for a record player designed to fit over the spindle of the record player and rotate with a record disposed on the record player or directly on the turntable of the record player. The figurine may being a single internally formed piece or may include multiple pieces that are separately formed and permanently or releasably attached. The figurine may frictionally engage a record rotating on a record player and rotate at the same speed as the record such that the figurine is stationary with respect to the record when the record is rotating.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A figurine for a record player comprising:
 a base comprising:
 a top surface, 
 a bottom surface configured to frictionally engage a record, and 
 an cavity located on the bottom surface, the cavity configured to receive the spindle of a record player; and 
   an ornament attached to the top surface;   wherein the ornament is in direct contact with the top surface; and   wherein the figurine rotates at the same speed as the record such that the figurine is stationary with respect to the record when the record is rotating.   
     
     
         2 . The figurine of  claim 1 , wherein the ornament comprises:
 a body and a platform;   wherein the platform is releasably attached to the top surface.   
     
     
         3 . The figurine of  claim 2 , wherein the body and the platform are a single integrally formed piece. 
     
     
         4 . The figurine of  claim 2 , wherein the top surface of the base includes a recess configured to receive at least a portion of the platform. 
     
     
         5 . The figurine of  claim 2 , further comprising at least one first attachment member disposed on the top surface of the base and at least one second attachment member disposed on the platform;
 wherein the at least one first attachment member is configured to engage the at least one second attachment member.   
     
     
         6 . The figurine of  claim 5 , comprising at least two first attachment members and at least two second attachment members. 
     
     
         7 . The figurine of  claim 1 , wherein the cavity has a diameter in the range of 0.6 cm to 0.8 cm. 
     
     
         8 . The figurine of  claim 1 , wherein the cavity has a diameter in the range of 0.65 cm to 0.75 cm. 
     
     
         9 . The figurine of  claim 1 , wherein the cavity has a depth in the range of 1.0 cm to 2.25 cm. 
     
     
         10 . The figurine of  claim 1 , wherein the bottom surface has a diameter in the range of 5 cm to 6 cm. 
     
     
         11 . The figurine of  claim 1 , wherein the base is configured to be an adapter for a 45 record. 
     
     
         12 . The figurine of  claim 2 , wherein the ornament is configured to stand upright when not attached to the base. 
     
     
         13 . The figurine of  claim 2 , wherein the platform comprises:
 a top surface, a bottom surface, a side surface, and at least one attachment member disposed on at least one of: the top surface and the side surface.   
     
     
         14 . The figurine of  claim 1 , wherein the base and the ornament are a single integrally formed piece. 
     
     
         15 . The figurine of  claim 1 , wherein the ornament is releasably attached to the top surface. 
     
     
         16 . The figurine of  claim 15 , further comprising at least one first attachment member disposed on the top surface and at least one second attachment member disposed on the ornament;
 wherein the at least one first attachment member is configured to engage the at least one second attachment member.   
     
     
         17 . The figurine of  claim 1 , wherein the ornament is a single integrally formed piece. 
     
     
         18 . A figurine for a record player comprising:
 a base comprising:
 a top surface, 
 a bottom surface, and 
 an cavity located on the bottom surface, the cavity configured to receive the spindle of a record player; and 
   an ornament attached to the top surface;   wherein the ornament is in direct contact with the top surface; and   wherein the base and the ornament are a single integrally formed piece.   
     
     
         19 . The figurine of  claim 18 , wherein the base is configured to fit over the spindle and the bottom surface is configured to fictionally engage a record disposed on the record player. 
     
     
         20 . A record player comprising:
 a turntable for rotating a record and a spindle for aligning the record;   a figurine, the figurine comprising:
 a top surface, 
 a bottom surface, and 
 an cavity located on the bottom surface, the cavity configured to receive the spindle of a record player; and 
   an ornament attached to the top surface;   wherein the ornament is in direct contact with the top surface; and   wherein the figurine rotates at the same speed as the record such that the figurine is stationary with respect to the record when the record is rotating.
