Abstract
A wrist watch system is provided. The wrist watch system includes at least one sensor configured to detect biometric data of a user; and a watch communicatively coupled to the at least one sensor and configured to removably couple to a wrist of the user. The watch includes an output device configured to display data from the at least one sensor and a communication device configured to transmit, to an external source, data received from the at least one sensor.

39 . A system for recording exercise activity of a user, the device comprising:
an exercise device configured to be worn on at least a portion of a wrist of a user; a heart rate sensor coupled to the exercise device, the heart rate sensor configured to provide a heart rate of a user; a position sensor coupled to the exercise device, the position sensor configured to provide movement data of the exercise device; a monitoring component including a processor and a storage device, the monitoring component communicatively coupled to the heart rate sensor and the position sensor and configured to record and store sensor data from the heart rate sensor and the position sensor in the storage device, the monitoring component including a transfer component configured to transfer sensor data to a computing device using a radio frequency link; and a display device coupled to the monitoring component.
40 . The system in accordance with claim 39 , wherein the monitoring component is further configured to detect, via the position sensor, when a stop in motion of the exercise device occurs.
41 . The system in accordance with claim 39 , further comprising an LCD display device coupled to the monitoring component.
42 . The system in accordance with claim 41 , wherein the monitoring component is further configured to provide a notification to the user, via the LCD display device, based on received sensor data from at least one of the heart rate sensor and the position sensor.
43 . The system in accordance with claim 39 , wherein the monitoring component is further configured to provide a device identification to the computing device when transmitting the sensor data.
44 . The system in accordance with claim 39 , further comprising a software application configured to operate on the computing device, the software application configured to display the sensor data.
45 . The system in accordance with claim 44 , wherein the software application is further configured to display a time and date associated with the sensor data.
46 . The system in accordance with claim 44 , wherein the software application enables a user to at least one of identify a particular exercise device from a plurality of exercise devices and grant additional users access to the sensor data.
47 . The system in accordance with claim 39 , wherein the computing device is a mobile computing device.
48 . The system in accordance with claim 39 , further comprising at least one of a temperature sensor and a blood pressure sensor coupled to the exercise device.
49 . The system in accordance with claim 41 , wherein the monitoring device is further configured to receive an exercise program, from the computing device, for presentation on the LCD display device.
50 . The system in accordance with claim 39 , wherein the monitoring device is further configured to activate a sleep state.
51 . A system for recording activity of a user, the device comprising:
a device configured to be worn on at least a portion of a wrist of a user; a heart rate sensor coupled to the device; and a monitoring component including a processor and a storage device, the monitoring component communicatively coupled to the heart rate sensor and configured to record sensor data from heart rate sensor, the monitoring component including a transfer component configured to transfer sensor data to a computing device using a wireless link.
52 . The system in accordance with claim 51 , wherein the wireless link is at least one of a radio frequency link and a cellular link.

The system in accordance with claim 51 , further comprising a second sensor that is at least one of a position sensor configured to provide movement data of the device, a blood pressure sensor configured to provide a blood pressure of a user, and a temperature sensor configured to provide a temperature of a user.
54 . The system in accordance with claim 51 , wherein the monitoring component is further configured to detect when a stop in motion of the device occurs.
55 . The system in accordance with claim 51 , further comprising an LCD display device coupled to the monitoring component, wherein the monitoring component is further configured to provide a notification to the user, via the LCD display device, based on received sensor data of the heart rate sensor.
56 . The system in accordance with claim 51 , wherein the monitoring component is further configured to provide a device identification to the computing device when transmitting the sensor data.
57 . The system in accordance with claim 51 , further comprising a software application configured to operate on the computing device, the software application configured to display the sensor data.
58 . The system in accordance with claim 57 , wherein the software application is further configured to display a time and date associated with the sensor data.
59 . The system in accordance with claim 57 , wherein the software application enables a user to at least one of identify a particular exercise device from a plurality of exercise devices and grant additional users access to the sensor data.
60 . The system in accordance with claim 51 , wherein the computing device is a mobile computing device.
61 . The system in accordance with claim 55 , wherein the monitoring device is further configured to receive an exercise program, from a computing device, for presentation on the LCD display device.
62 . A system for recording exercise activity of a user, the device comprising:
a device configured to be worn on at least a portion of a wrist of a user; at least one sensor coupled to the device; and a monitoring component including a processor and a storage device, the monitoring component communicatively coupled to the at least one sensor and configured to record sensor data from the at least one sensor, the monitoring component including a transfer component configured to transfer sensor data to a computing device using a radio frequency link.

The system in accordance with claim 62 , wherein the at least one sensor is at least one of a position sensor configured to provide movement data of the device, a heart rate sensor configured to provide a heart rate of a user, a blood pressure sensor configured to provide a blood pressure of a user, and a temperature sensor configured to provide a temperature of a user.
64 . The system in accordance with claim 62 , wherein the monitoring component is further configured to detect, via the at least one sensor, when a stop in motion of the device occurs.

The system in accordance with claim 62 , further comprising an LCD display device coupled to the monitoring component, wherein the monitoring component is further configured to provide a notification to the user, via the LCD display device, based on received sensor data of the at least one sensor.
66 . The system in accordance with claim 62 , further comprising a software application configured to operate on the computing device, the software application configured to at least one of display a time and date associated with the sensor data, identify a particular device from a plurality of devices, and grant additional users access to the sensor data.
67 . The system in accordance with claim 62 , wherein the computing device is a mobile computing device.
