Hair styling device
Abstract
A hair styling device including a handle and a body connected thereto. A plurality of hair separating members comprising fine hair separators and coarse hair separators are secured to the body and extend outwardly therefrom. The body may be hollow and include a plurality of openings through an external wall, and at least one hair separating member is disposed through each opening. The coarse hair separators are structured to create spaces between sections of hair upon use, through which hot air can be applied. Moreover, the coarse hair separators are evenly dispersed throughout the body for more efficient hair drying.
Claims

. A hair styling device comprising:
a body including a hollow interior and a support member mounted within said hollow interior, said body including an external wall comprising a plurality of openings extending there through in communication with said hollow interior, said plurality of openings disposed and dimensioned to facilitate airflow through said body and said hollow interior when air is directed on an exterior of said body, a plurality of hair separating members comprising a plurality of elongated fine hair separators structured to remove tangles from hair and a plurality of elongated coarse hair separators structured to create spaces between sections of hair, each of said plurality of hair separating members including a proximal end and a distal end; said proximal end of said plurality of fine hair separators and said plurality of coarse hair separators secured to said support member within said hollow interior, and said plurality of fine hair separators and coarse hair separators extending outwardly from said support member, through said hollow interior and outwardly from said external wall through said plurality of openings.
. The hair styling device as recited in claim 1 where in the lengths of said plurality of fine hair separators and coarse hair separators are sufficient to dispose said distal ends thereof outwardly from said external wall, through said plurality of openings into contacting relation with hair being styled.
. The hair styling device as recited in claim 2 wherein said plurality of coarse hair separators have a greater length than said plurality of fine hair separators, said distal ends of said coarse hair separators extending outwardly from said hollow interior a greater distance than said distal ends of said plurality of fine hair separators.
. The hair styling device as recited in claim 1 wherein said external wall comprises a closed, continuous cylindrical configuration. The hair styling device as recited in claim 4 wherein said plurality of openings are collectively disposed through at least a majority of said external wall in collectively surrounding relation to said hollow interior.
. The hair styling device as recited in claim 5 wherein said distal ends of said plurality of coarse hair separators extend through said plurality of openings in collectively surrounding relation to said hollow interior.
. The hair styling device as recited in claim 6 wherein said distal ends of said plurality of fine hair separators extend through said plurality of openings in collectively surrounding relation to said hollow interior.
. The hair styling device as recited in claim 7 wherein said plurality of fine hair separators, said plurality of coarse hair separators and corresponding ones of said plurality of openings are collectively disposed in a plurality of rows and a plurality of columns.
. The hair styling device as recited in claim 8 wherein adjacent ones of said plurality of rows are offset from one another.
. The hair styling device as recited in claim 9 wherein adjacent ones of said plurality of columns are offset from one another.
. The hair styling device as recited in claim 1 wherein said coarse hair separators are wider and longer than said fine hair separators.
. The hair styling device as recited in claim 2 wherein said coarse hair separators are at least twice as wide as said fine hair separators.
. The hair styling device as recited in claim 1 wherein said coarse hair separators are disposed in a generally alternating pattern to said fine hair separators such that said coarse hair separators are evenly interspersed along said body.
. The hair styling device as recited in claim 1 further comprising a handle connected to said body.
. The hair styling device as recited in claim 1 wherein said support member is disposed within said hollow interior in substantially coaxial relation to said body.
. A hair styling device comprising:
a body including a hollow interior, said body including an external wall comprising a plurality of openings extending there through in fluid communication with said hollow interior, a plurality of hair separating members comprising a plurality of elongated fine hair separators and a plurality of elongated coarse hair separators, said plurality of fine hair separators and coarse hair separators disposed within and extending through said hollow interior and outwardly from said external wall through said plurality of openings, said plurality of openings and corresponding ones of said plurality of fine hair separators and coarse hair separators collectively disposed in a plurality of rows and a plurality of columns, and adjacent ones of said plurality of rows being offset from one another and adjacent ones of said plurality of columns being offset from one another.
. The hair styling device as recited in claim 16 further comprising a support member mounted within said hollow interior; each of said plurality of hair separator members including a proximal end and a distal end; said proximal ends of said plurality of fine hair separators and said plurality of coarse hair separators secured to said support member within said hollow interior.
. The hair styling device as recited in claim 17 wherein said support member is disposed within said hollow interior in substantially coaxial relation to said body.
. The hairstyling device as recited in claim 16 wherein said external wall comprises a closed, continuous cylindrical configuration and said plurality of openings are collectively disposed through at least a majority of said external wall in collectively surrounding relation to said hollow interior.
. The hair styling device as recited in claim 19 wherein said distal ends of said plurality of coarse hair separators extend through said plurality of openings in collectively surrounding relation to said hollow interior.
. The hair styling device as recited in claim 20 wherein said distal ends of said plurality of fine hair separators extend through said plurality of openings in collectively surrounding relation to said hollow interior.
. The hair styling device as recited in claim 16 wherein said coarse hair separators are wider and longer than said fine hair separators
. The hair styling device as recited in claim 16 wherein said plurality of fine hair separators are configured in groupings, each of at least a majority of said groupings including a plurality of fine hair separators disposed through a common one of said plurality of openings in closely spaced proximity to one another; said groupings and said plurality of coarse hair separators collectively configured in a substantially alternating pattern and substantially even disbursement of said coarse hair separators along at least a majority of said external wall.
. The hair styling device as recited in claim 23 wherein at least a majority of said groupings are disposed through different ones of said plurality of openings in outwardly extending relation from said external wall.
. The hair styling device as recited in claim 24 wherein at least some of said plurality of coarse hair separators are disposed through common ones of said plurality of openings with said groupings.
. The hair styling device as recited in claim 24 wherein at least a majority of said plurality of coarse hair separators are disposed through different ones of said plurality of openings in outwardly extending relation from said external wall.
