Abstract

In case of supplying sheets to a sheet holding unit, information concerning a depository of the sheet to be supplied is registered. Thus, it is possible to efficiently make a transition of work to supply work by reducing a load of the supply work to be performed by various users.

         8 . An image forming apparatus, which forms an image on a sheet conveyed from at least one of a plurality of sheet holding units, comprising:
 a selecting unit configured to select a sheet holding unit from the plurality of sheet holding units;   a receiving unit configured to receive a message from a user for the sheet holding unit selected by the selecting unit;   a storing unit configured to store the message received by the receiving unit; and   a notification unit configured to perform a notification based on the message stored in the storing unit for the sheet holding unit selected by the selecting unit, in a case where an amount of sheets stored in the sheet holding unit selected by the selecting unit becomes a predetermined amount,   wherein at least one of the selecting unit, the receiving unit, the storing unit, and the notification unit is implemented by a processor coupled to a memory.   
     
     
         9 . The image forming apparatus according to  claim 8 , further comprising a display unit configured to display a list of the plurality of sheet holding units,
 wherein the selecting unit selects the sheet holding unit from the plurality of sheet holding units displayed by the display unit.   
     
     
         10 . The image forming apparatus according to  claim 9 , wherein the receiving unit receives the message via an operation panel of the image forming apparatus. 
     
     
         11 . The image forming apparatus according to  claim 10 , wherein the receiving unit receives the message via a software keyboard displayed by the operation panel of the image forming apparatus. 
     
     
         12 . The image forming apparatus according to  claim 8 , wherein the notification unit performs a display on a display unit based on the message stored in the storing unit for the sheet holding unit selected by the selecting unit, in the case where the amount of sheets stored in the sheet holding unit selected by the selecting unit becomes the predetermined amount.

The image forming apparatus according to  claim 8 , wherein the notification unit outputs a voice by a voice outputting unit based on the message stored in the storing unit for the sheet holding unit selected by the selecting unit, in the case where the amount of sheets stored in the sheet holding unit selected by the selecting unit becomes the predetermined amount. 
     
     
         14 . The image forming apparatus according to  claim 8 , further comprising a controlling unit configured to execute a job for forming the image on the sheet,
 wherein the notification unit performs the notification based on the message stored in the storing unit for the sheet holding unit selected by the selecting unit, in a case where the amount of sheets stored in the sheet holding unit selected by the selecting unit becomes the predetermined amount during the execution of the job.   
     
     
         15 . A control method for an image forming apparatus, which forms an image on a sheet conveyed from at least one of a plurality of sheet holding units, the control method comprising:
 selecting a sheet holding unit from the plurality of sheet holding units;   receiving a message from a user for the selected sheet holding unit;   storing, in a storing unit, the received message for the selected sheet holding unit; and   performing a notification based on the message stored in the storing unit for the selected sheet holding unit, in a case where an amount of sheets stored in the selected sheet holding unit becomes a predetermined amount.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a program that when executed causes a computer to perform a control method for an image forming apparatus, which forms an image on a sheet conveyed from at least one of a plurality of sheet holding units, the control method comprising:
 selecting a sheet holding unit from the plurality of sheet holding units;   receiving a message from a user for the selected sheet holding unit;   storing, in a storing unit, the received message for the selected sheet holding unit; and   performing a notification based on the message stored in the storing unit for the selected sheet holding unit, in a case where an amount of sheets stored in the selected sheet holding unit becomes a predetermined amount.
