Abstract

An improved system and method for producing magnetic structures involves a first magnetizing circuit having a first inductor coil used to magnetically print a first magnetic source onto a magnetizable material and a second magnetizing circuit having a second inductor coil used to magnetically print a second magnetic source onto said magnetizable material.

1 . A magnetic structure, comprising:
 a magnetizable material comprising samarium cobalt, said magnetizable material having a first surface and a second surface opposite said first surface, said magnetizable material having a thickness between said first surface and said second surface; and   a maxel at a location on said first surface of said magnetizable material, said maxel being associated with a first polarity and a second polarity opposite said first polarity, said first polarity associated with said maxel being substantially exposed on said first surface of said magnetizable material within a maxel area about said location, said second polarity associated with said maxel being not substantially exposed on said first surface of said magnetizable material, said maxel having a depth within said magnetizable material, wherein a portion of said first surface that is outside said maxel area is one of unmagnetized or magnetized to have said second polarity.   
     
     
         2 . The magnetic structure of  claim 1 , wherein said depth is less than said thickness of said magnetizable material. 
     
     
         3 . The magnetic structure of  claim 1 , wherein the portion of said first surface that is outside said maxel area is magnetized to have said second polarity. 
     
     
         4 . The magnetic structure of  claim 1 , wherein the portion of said first surface that is outside said maxel area is unmagnetized. 
     
     
         5 . The magnetic structure of  claim 1 , wherein said second polarity associated with said maxel is substantially exposed on said second surface of said magnetizable material. 
     
     
         6 . The magnetic structure of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a second maxel at a second location on said first surface of said magnetizable material, said second maxel being associated with said first polarity and said second polarity, said second polarity associated with said second maxel being substantially exposed on said first surface of said magnetizable material within a second maxel area about said second location, said first polarity associated with said second ‘maxel being not substantially exposed on said first surface of said magnetizable material, said second maxel having a depth within said magnetizable material.   
     
     
         7 . The magnetic structure of  claim 6 , wherein said first polarity associated with said second maxel is substantially exposed on said second surface of said magnetizable material. 
     
     
         8 . The magnetic structure of  claim 6 , wherein a second portion of said first surface that is outside said second maxel area is unmagnetized. 
     
     
         9 . The magnetic structure of  claim 6 , wherein a second portion of said first surface that is outside said second maxel area is magnetized to have said second polarity. 
     
     
         10 . A method of magnetizing a magnetic structure, comprising:
 providing a magnetizable material comprising samarium cobalt, said magnetizable material having a first surface and a second surface opposite said first surface, said magnetizable material having a thickness between said first surface and said second surface; and   printing a maxel at a location on said first surface of said magnetizable material, said maxel being associated with a first polarity and a second polarity opposite said first polarity, said first polarity associated with said maxel being substantially exposed on said first surface of said magnetizable material within a maxel area about said location, said second polarity associated with said maxel being not substantially exposed on said first surface of said magnetizable material, said maxel having a depth within said magnetizable material, wherein a portion of said first surface that is outside said maxel area is one of unmagnetized or magnetized to have said second polarity.   
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 10 , wherein said depth is less than said thickness of said magnetizable material. 
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 10 , wherein the portion of said first surface that is outside said maxel area is magnetized to have said second polarity. 
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 10 , wherein the portion of said first surface that is outside said maxel area is unmagnetized. 
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 10 , wherein said second polarity associated with said maxel is substantially exposed on said second surface of said magnetizable material. 
     
     
         15 . The method of  claim 10 , further comprising:
 a second maxel at a second location on said first surface of said magnetizable material, said second maxel being associated with said first polarity and said second polarity, said second polarity associated with said second maxel being substantially exposed on said first surface of said magnetizable material within a second maxel area about said second location, said first polarity associated with said second ‘maxel being not substantially exposed on said first surface of said magnetizable material, said second maxel having a depth within said magnetizable material.   
     
     
         16 . The method of  claim 15 , wherein said first polarity associated with said second maxel is substantially exposed on said second surface of said magnetizable material. 
     
     
         17 . The method of  claim 15 , wherein a second portion of said first surface that is outside said second maxel area is unmagnetized. 
     
     
         18 . The method of  claim 15 , wherein a second portion of said first surface that is outside said second maxel area is magnetized to have said second polarity. 
     
     
         19 . A magnetic structure, comprising:
 a magnetizable material comprising samarium cobalt, said magnetizable material having a first surface and a second surface opposite said first surface, said magnetizable material having a thickness between said first surface and said second surface; and   a maxel at a location on said first surface of said magnetizable material, said maxel being associated with a first polarity and a second polarity opposite said first polarity, said first polarity associated with said maxel being substantially exposed on said first surface of said magnetizable material within a maxel area about said location, said second polarity associated with said maxel being not substantially exposed on said first surface of said magnetizable material, said maxel having a depth within said magnetizable material, wherein a portion of said first surface that is outside said maxel area is magnetized to have said second polarity.   
     
     
         20 . A method of magnetizing a magnetic structure, comprising:
