Abstract

In accordance with some embodiments, a system for enabling real time capture of scenario data and a method of capturing participant statistics during a scenario with at least one participant. In operation the system has a first node capable of capturing scenario data and second node capable of receiving wireless data transmitted from the first node and transmitting the wireless data to a remote network. The system, and methods employing the system, are suitable for scenarios including training scenarios and paintball games, among other types of scenarios.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A system for enabling real time capture of scenario data comprising:
 a first node and a central node wherein the first node comprises:
 a housing;
 an input means located on the external surface of the housing;
 a display means located on an external surface of the housing;
 a transmitting means for transmitting data between the first node and a central node;
 a first processing unit wherein the first processing unit is interrupt driven and continuously monitors the input means and provides outputs that correspond to data generated by the input means; and
 a power source capable of powering the input means, display means, the first processing unit and the transmitting means; and
   the central node comprises:
 a housing;
 a second processing unit;
 a means for receiving data transmitted from the first node via the transmitting means;
 a means for transmitting received data to a remote network; and
   wherein the first processing unit and the second processing unit operate with a synchronized network timer.

         2 . The device of claim 1 wherein the first node further comprises a receiving means.

         3 . The device of claim 1 wherein the transmitting means is a cellular network connection.

         4 . The device of claim 1 wherein the transmitting means is a wireless local area network connection.

         5 . The device of claim 1 wherein the transmitting means is a wired connection.

         6 . The device of claim 2 further comprising a second node comprising a
 a housing;
 an input means located on the external surface of the housing;
 a display means located on an external surface of the housing;
 a transmitting means for transmitting data between the second node and the central node;
 a third processing unit wherein the third processing unit is interrupt driven and continuously monitors the second node input means and provides outputs that correspond to data generated by the second node input means; and
 a power source capable of powering the input means, display means, the third processing unit and the transmitting means;
 wherein the third processing unit operates with the same synchronized network time as the first and second processing unit.

         7 . A method for capturing participant statistics during a scenario with at least one participant comprising:
 providing at least one node wherein said node comprises at least one input means, at least one output means and at least one means for communicating with a central node; activating said node to communicate with the central node; selecting a defined response wherein the defined response requires the participant to interact with at least one of the input means and outputs means on the node; initiating a fixed length scenario; for the duration of the scenario, transmitting any data related to any interactions between any participants with the input means located on the node to a central node; and for the duration of the scenario, transmitting the data transmitted to the central node to a remote network.

         8 . The method of claim 7 further comprising selecting a defined action wherein, the occurrence of the defined action requires the participant to take the defined response.

         9 . The method of claim 8 further comprising selecting a second defined action and a second defined response wherein the second defined response requires the participant to interact with at least one of the input means and output means on the node.
