Abstract

An apparatus for pricing offers of healthcare services includes an application server providing a pricing tool, and a service pricing information database and a cost adjustment information database that are accessible by the application server. The pricing tool is operable to receive an indication of a healthcare service set that is respectively associated with a service detail information record included in the service pricing information database, determine a base physician fee for a primary service of the indicated healthcare service set based on base pricing metrics for the primary service included in the service detail information record, receive an indication specifying a location for performing the primary service, calculate an adjusted physician fee for the primary service based on cost adjustment metrics for a geographic zone that corresponds to the specified location, and provide a recommended price for the indicated healthcare service set based on the calculated adjusted physician fee.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . An apparatus for pricing offers of healthcare services by healthcare service providers, the apparatus comprising:
 an application server that provides a network service that is accessible to users through a plurality of client systems communicatively coupled to the application server via a network, the network service including a pricing tool that is accessible via a user interface provided by a client application implemented on each of the client systems;   a data storage system storing a service pricing information database and a cost adjustment information database that are accessible by the application server, the service pricing information database comprising a plurality of service detail information records respectively associated with a plurality of healthcare service sets, the plurality of healthcare service sets including at least one healthcare service set that is comprised of a bundled set of services, each service detail information record comprising an identifier of a primary service of the respectively associated healthcare service set and a set of base pricing metrics for the primary service, the cost adjustment information database comprising a first set of cost adjustment metrics for each of a plurality of geographic zones that is correlated with the sets of base pricing metrics for the primary services of the service detail information records, and   wherein, upon a user operating one of the client systems to access the pricing tool of the network service via the user interface provided by the client application implemented on the client system, the pricing tool is operable to receive an indication via the user interface of a healthcare service set that is respectively associated with a service detail information record included in the service pricing information database, determine a base physician fee for the primary service of the indicated healthcare service set based on the set of base pricing metrics for the primary service included in the service detail information record, receive a location indication that specifies a location for performing the primary service, perform a calculation of an adjusted physician fee for the primary service based on the first set of cost adjustment metrics for a geographic zone of the plurality of geographic zones that corresponds to the location specified by the location indication, determine a recommended price for the indicated healthcare service set based on the adjusted physician fee calculated for the primary service, and provide respective indications of the adjusted physician fee calculated for the primary service and the recommended price determined for the indicated healthcare service set within the user interface, and   wherein the pricing tool is operable to, in response to receiving input via the user interface pertaining to the calculation of the adjusted physician fee for the primary service of the indicated healthcare service set, recalculate the adjusted physician fee for the primary service based on the input received via the user interface, and determine the recommended price for the indicated healthcare service set based on the adjusted physician fee recalculated for the primary service.   
     
     
         2 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein each service detail information record further comprises an indication of a medical specialty under which the primary service of the respectively associated healthcare service set is classified, wherein the indication of the healthcare service set that is received by the pricing tool is a selection of the medical specialty under which the primary service of the healthcare service set is classified from a plurality of medical specialties via a user interface control accessible by the user within the user interface, and wherein, in response to receiving the selection of the medical specialty, the pricing tool is operable to, for each service detail information record for which the primary service of the respectively associated healthcare service set is classified under the medical specialty selected via the user interface, determine a base physician fee for the primary service, perform the calculation of an adjusted physician fee for the primary service based on the first set of cost adjustment metrics for the geographic zone that corresponds to the location specified by the location indication, determine a recommended price for the healthcare service set based on the adjusted physician fee calculated for the primary service, and provide respective indications of the adjusted physician fee calculated for the primary service and the recommended price determined for the healthcare service set within the user interface. 
     
     
         3 . The apparatus of  claim 2 , wherein each service detail information record further comprises an indication of a procedure category under which the primary service of the respectively associated healthcare service set is categorized, wherein the pricing tool is operable to, for the service detail information records for which the primary services of the respectively associated healthcare service sets are classified under the medical specialty selected via the user interface control and categorized under the same procedure category, determine a common adjusted physician fee for the primary services based on the calculated adjusted physician fees for the primary services, determine the recommended price for the each of the healthcare service sets respectively associated with the service detail information records based on the common adjusted physician fee determined for the primary services, and provide an indication of the common adjusted physician fee in association with the indications of the adjusted physician fees calculated for the primary services within the user interface. 
     
     
         4 . The apparatus of  claim 3 , wherein, for the service detail information records for which the primary services of the respectively associated healthcare service sets are classified under the medical specialty selected via the user interface control and categorized under the same procedure category, the pricing tool determines the common adjusted physician fee for the primary services in accordance with a selection of a determination method from a plurality of determination methods via a user interface control accessible by the user within the user interface, and wherein the determination methods include determining an average of the calculated adjusted physician fees for the primary services and selecting a highest adjusted physician fee among the calculated adjusted physician fees for the primary services. 
     
     
         5 . The apparatus of  claim 2 , wherein the data storage system stores a profile database that is maintained by the application server, the profile database comprising a respective account information record for each of a plurality of user accounts for service providers registered with the application server, wherein the account information record for each user account comprises information for authorizing a user accessing the network service from one of the client systems to access the network service in association with the user account and a reference to information pertaining to each of one or more physicians affiliated with the user account that specifies a medical specialty under which the physician practices and a location at which the physician performs healthcare services, and wherein, for a user operating one of the client systems to access the pricing tool of the network service in association with a user account for a service provider registered with the system, the location indication that is received by the pricing tool is, if the information pertaining to physicians referenced in the account information record for the user account specifies at least one physician as practicing under the medical specialty selected via the user interface, a specification of the location at which one of the at least one physician performs healthcare services as specified by the information pertaining to physicians referenced in the account information record for the user account, and, if the information pertaining to physicians referenced in the account information record for the user account does not specify at least one physician as practicing under the medical specialty selected via the user interface, a specification of a standard location that corresponds to a general zone of the plurality of geographic zones for which the first set of cost adjustment metrics, when used for performing the calculation of the adjusted physician fee for the primary service, results in the calculated adjusted physician fee corresponding to the base physician fee for the primary service. 
     
     
         6 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the user interface provided by the client application includes a user input field via which the user operating one of the client systems to access the pricing tool of the network service can submit a specification of a location that is received by the pricing tool as the location indication, and wherein the pricing tool is operable to, in response to receiving a specification of a new location for performing the primary service submitted via the user input field that is different from a location specified in an immediately preceding location indication received by the pricing tool, recalculate the adjusted physician fee for the primary service based on the first set of cost adjustment metrics for a geographic zone of the plurality of geographic zones that corresponds to the new location and determine the recommended price for the indicated healthcare service set based on the adjusted physician fee recalculated for the primary service. 
     
     
         7 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the user interface provided by the client application includes a field via which a primary service location adjustment factor is provided that is used by the pricing tool to perform the calculation of the adjusted physician fee for the primary service and is generated by the pricing tool based on the first set of cost adjustment metrics for the geographic zone that corresponds to the location specified by the location indication. 
     
     
         8 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the user interface provided by the client application includes a user input field via which the user operating one of the client systems to access the pricing tool of the network service can submit a physician fee adjustment value to the pricing tool, and wherein the pricing tool is operable to, in response to receiving a new physician fee adjustment value submitted via the user input field, recalculate a new adjusted physician fee for the primary service by multiplying the adjusted physician fee calculated for the primary service by the pricing tool based on the first set of cost adjustment metrics for the geographic zone that corresponds to the location specified by the location indication and determine the recommended price for the indicated healthcare service set based on the new adjusted physician fee recalculated for the primary service. 
     
     
         9 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein each service detail information record further comprises an indication of whether the primary service of the respectively associated healthcare service set is performed at an outside facility and, if the primary service is indicated as being performed at an outside facility, a set of base pricing metrics for use of an outside facility in association with the primary service, and wherein the cost adjustment information database comprises a second set of cost adjustment metrics that is correlated with the sets of base pricing metrics for use of an outside facility of the service detail information records. 
     
     
         10 . The apparatus of  claim 9 , wherein, for each service pricing information record, the identifier of the primary service of the respectively associated healthcare service set is a Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code and the base physician fee for the primary service of the respectively associated healthcare service set is derived based on information from the Resource-Based Relative Value Scale (RBRVS) pertaining to the CPT code and included in the set of base pricing metrics for the primary service, wherein, for each service detail information record that comprises an indication of that the primary service of the respectively associated healthcare service set is performed at an outside facility, the service detail information record further comprises an indication of whether use of an outside facility is considered to be an outpatient facility service or an inpatient facility service, the set of base pricing metrics for use of an outside facility that is considered to be an outpatient facility service is compiled based on information from the Ambulatory Payment Classification (APC) payment system pertaining to a corresponding Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) code that is mapped to the primary service within the respectively associated healthcare service set based on a relationship between the primary service and the corresponding HCPCS code, and the set of base pricing metrics for use of an outside facility that is considered to be an inpatient facility service is compiled based on information from the Medicare Severity-Diagnosis-Related Group (MS-DRG) payment system pertaining to one or more MS-DRG codes that are mapped to the primary service within the respectively associated healthcare service based on a determined relationship between the one or more MS-DRG codes and the primary service within the respectively associated healthcare service set, wherein the first sets of cost adjustment metrics are compiled based on the Geographic Practice Cost Indices (GPCIs) or geographic adjustment factors (GAFs) from a corresponding institutional prospective payment system, and wherein the second sets of cost adjustment metrics are compiled based on facility wage index information from the Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS) for correlation with the sets of base pricing metrics for use of an outside facility. 
     
     
         11 . The apparatus of  claim 9 , wherein the pricing tool is operable to, upon receiving an indication via the user interface of a healthcare service set that is respectively associated with a service detail information record included in service pricing information database that comprises an indication that the primary service of the respectively associated healthcare service set is performed at an outside facility, determine a base facility fee for the primary service of the indicated healthcare service set based on the set of base pricing metrics for use of an outside facility in association with the primary service included in the service detail information record, receive a facility specification that indicates a particular facility for performing the primary service, perform a calculation of an adjusted facility fee for the primary service based on information in the second set of cost adjustment metrics that corresponds to the particular facility indicated by the facility specification, determine the recommended price for the indicated healthcare service set based on a sum of the adjusted physician fee and the adjusted facility fee calculated for the primary service, and provide an indication of the adjusted facility fee calculated for the primary service, and
 wherein the pricing tool is operable to, in response to receiving input via the user interface pertaining to the calculation of the adjusted facility fee for the primary service of the indicated healthcare service set, recalculate the adjusted facility fee for the primary service based on the input received via the user interface, and determine the recommended price for the indicated healthcare service set based on the adjusted facility fee recalculated for the primary service.   
     
     
         12 . The apparatus of  claim 11 , wherein the data storage system stores a profile database that is maintained by the application server and comprises a respective account information record for each of a plurality of user accounts for service providers registered with the application server, wherein the account information record for each user account comprises information for authorizing a user accessing the network service from one of the client systems to access the network service in association with the user account and a reference to information pertaining to each of one or more facilities affiliated with the user account, and wherein, for a user operating one of the client systems to access the pricing tool of the network service in association with a user account for a service provider registered with the system, the facility specification that is received by the pricing tool indicates one or the one or more facilities referenced in the account information record for the user account. 
     
     
         13 . The apparatus of  claim 11 , wherein the user interface provided by the client application includes a user input field via which the user operating one of the client systems to access the pricing tool of the network service can submit an indication of a particular facility that is received by the pricing tool as the facility specification, and wherein the pricing tool is operable to, in response to receiving a new facility specification that indicates a particular facility for performing the primary service submitted via the user input field that is different from a particular facility indicated by an immediately preceding facility specification received by the pricing tool, recalculate the adjusted facility fee for the primary service based on information in the second set of cost adjustment metrics that corresponds to the particular facility indicated by the new facility specification and determine the recommended price for the indicated healthcare service set based on the adjusted facility fee recalculated for the primary service. 
     
     
         14 . The apparatus of  claim 11 , wherein the user interface provided by the client application includes a field via which a facility rate factor is provided that is used by the pricing tool to perform the calculation of the adjusted facility fee for the primary service and is generated by the pricing tool based on information in the second set of cost adjustment metrics that corresponds to the particular facility indicated by the facility specification. 
     
     
         15 . The apparatus of  claim 11 , wherein the user interface provided by the client application includes a user input field via which the user operating one of the client systems to access the pricing tool of the network service can submit a facility fee adjustment value to the pricing tool, and wherein the pricing tool is operable to, in response to receiving a new facility fee adjustment value submitted via the user input field, recalculate a new adjusted facility fee for the primary service by multiplying the adjusted facility fee calculated for the primary service by the pricing tool by the new facility fee adjustment value and determine the recommended price for the indicated healthcare service set based on the new adjusted facility fee recalculated for the primary service. 
     
     
         16 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein each service detail information record for which the respectively associated healthcare service set is comprised of a bundled set of services further comprises an identifier of each of one or more secondary services associated with the primary service and a set of base pricing metrics for each of the one or more secondary services associated with the primary service. 
     
     
         17 . The apparatus of  claim 16 , wherein each service detail information record for which the respectively associated healthcare service set is comprised of a bundled set of services further comprises an indication of whether one of the secondary services associated with the primary service is an anesthesia service, wherein, for each service detail information record in which a secondary service of the respectively associated healthcare service set is indicated as being an anesthesia service, the set of base pricing metrics for the secondary anesthesia service associated with the primary service is compiled based on anesthesia billing information from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) pertaining to one or more anesthesia service CPT codes that are mapped to the secondary anesthesia service based on a determined relationship between the one or more anesthesia service CPT codes and the secondary anesthesia service, and wherein the cost adjustment information database comprises a second set of cost adjustment metrics for each of the plurality of geographic zones that is compiled based on anesthesia conversion factor information from the CMS and correlated with the sets of base pricing metrics for secondary services of the service detail information records for which the respectively associated healthcare service sets are comprised of bundled sets of services. 
     
     
         18 . The apparatus of  claim 17 , wherein the pricing tool is operable to, upon receiving an indication via the user interface of a healthcare service set that is respectively associated with a service detail information record included in service pricing information database that comprises an indication that a secondary service of the respectively associated healthcare service set is an anesthesia service, determine a base anesthesia fee for the secondary anesthesia service of the indicated healthcare service set based on the set of base pricing metrics for the secondary anesthesia service included in the service detail information record, perform a calculation of an adjusted anesthesia fee for the secondary anesthesia service based on based on the second set of cost adjustment metrics for a geographic zone of the plurality of geographic zones that corresponds to the location specified by the location indication, determine the recommended price for the indicated healthcare service set based on a sum of the adjusted physician fee calculated for the primary service and the adjusted anesthesia fee calculated for the secondary anesthesia service, and provide an indication of the adjusted anesthesia fee for the secondary anesthesia service within the user interface, and
 wherein the pricing tool is operable to, in response to receiving input via the user interface pertaining to the calculation of the adjusted anesthesia fee for the secondary anesthesia service of the indicated healthcare service set, recalculate the adjusted anesthesia fee for the secondary anesthesia service based on the input received via the user interface, and determine the recommended price for the indicated healthcare service set based on the adjusted anesthesia fee recalculated for the secondary anesthesia service.   
     
     
         19 . The apparatus of  claim 18 , wherein the user interface provided by the client application is implemented to, upon the pricing tool receiving an indication via the user interface of a healthcare service set that is respectively associated with a service detail information record included in service pricing information database that comprises an indication that a secondary service of the respectively associated healthcare service set is an anesthesia service, provide a user input field via which the user operating one of the client systems to access the pricing tool of the network service can submit a specification of a location for performing the secondary anesthesia service of the respectively associated healthcare service set that is received by the pricing tool as an anesthesia location indication, and wherein the pricing tool is operable to, in response to receiving a specification of a location for performing the secondary anesthesia service submitted via the user input field, recalculate the adjusted anesthesia fee for the secondary anesthesia service based on the second set of cost adjustment metrics for a geographic zone of the plurality of geographic zones that corresponds to the location for performing the secondary anesthesia service and determine the recommended price for the indicated healthcare service set based on the adjusted anesthesia fee recalculated for the secondary anesthesia service. 
     
     
         20 . The apparatus of  claim 18 , wherein the user interface provided by the client application is implemented to, upon the pricing tool receiving an indication via the user interface of a healthcare service set that is respectively associated with a service detail information record included in service pricing information database that comprises an indication that a secondary service of the respectively associated healthcare service set is an anesthesia service, provide a field via which an anesthesia service location adjustment factor is provided that is used by the pricing tool to perform the calculation of the adjusted anesthesia fee for the secondary anesthesia service and is generated by the pricing tool based on the second set of cost adjustment metrics for the geographic zone that corresponds to the location specified by the location indication. 
     
     
         21 . The apparatus of  claim 18 , wherein the user interface provided by the client application is implemented to, upon the pricing tool receiving an indication via the user interface of a healthcare service set that is respectively associated with a service detail information record included in service pricing information database that comprises an indication that a secondary service of the respectively associated healthcare service set is an anesthesia service, provide a user input field via which the user operating one of the client systems to access the pricing tool of the network service can submit an anesthesia fee adjustment value to the pricing tool, and wherein the pricing tool is operable to, in response to receiving a new anesthesia fee adjustment value submitted via the user input field, recalculate a new adjusted anesthesia fee for the anesthesia service by multiplying the adjusted anesthesia fee calculated for the secondary anesthesia service by the pricing tool by the new anesthesia fee adjustment value and determine the recommended price for the indicated healthcare service set based on the new adjusted anesthesia fee recalculated for the secondary anesthesia service. 
     
     
         22 . The apparatus of  claim 18 , wherein the user interface provided by the client application is implemented to, upon the pricing tool receiving an indication via the user interface of a healthcare service set that is respectively associated with a service detail information record included in service pricing information database that comprises an indication that a secondary service of the respectively associated healthcare service set is an anesthesia service, provide a user input element via which the user operating one of the client systems to access the pricing tool of the network service can provide an indication to the pricing tool that the recommended price for the indicated healthcare service set should not be based on the secondary anesthesia service, and wherein the pricing tool is operable to, upon receiving the indication that the recommended price for the indicated healthcare service set should not be based on the secondary anesthesia service, remove the indication of the adjusted anesthesia fee for the secondary anesthesia service within the user interface and determine the recommended price for the indicated healthcare service set without considering the adjusted anesthesia fee calculated for the secondary anesthesia service. 
     
     
         23 . The apparatus of  claim 16 , wherein each service detail information record for which the respectively associated healthcare service set is comprised of a bundled set of services further comprises an indication of whether one of the secondary services associated with the primary service is a pathology service, and wherein, for each service detail information record in which a secondary service of the respectively associated healthcare service set is indicated as being a pathology service, the set of base pricing metrics for the secondary anesthesia service associated with the primary service is compiled based on pathology billing information from the Clinical Laboratory Fee Schedule pertaining to a pathology service CPT code that is mapped to the secondary pathology service based on a correlation between the pathology service CPT code and the secondary pathology service. 
     
     
         24 . The apparatus of  claim 23 , wherein the pricing tool is operable to, upon receiving an indication via the user interface of a healthcare service set that is respectively associated with a service detail information record included in service pricing information database that comprises an indication that a secondary service of the respectively associated healthcare service set is a pathology service, determine a base pathology fee for the secondary pathology service of the indicated healthcare service set based on the set of base pricing metrics for the secondary pathology service included in the service detail information record, determine the recommended price for the indicated healthcare service set based on a sum of the adjusted physician fee calculated for the primary service and the base pathology fee calculated for the secondary pathology service, and provide an indication of the base pathology fee for the secondary pathology service within the user interface. 
     
     
         25 . The apparatus of  claim 24 , wherein the user interface provided by the client application is implemented to, upon the pricing tool receiving an indication via the user interface of a healthcare service set that is respectively associated with a service detail information record included in service pricing information database that comprises an indication that a secondary service of the respectively associated healthcare service set is a pathology service, provide a user input element via which the user operating one of the client systems to access the pricing tool of the network service can provide an indication to the pricing tool that the recommended price for the indicated healthcare service set should not be based on the secondary pathology service, and wherein the pricing tool is operable to, upon receiving the indication that the recommended price for the indicated healthcare service set should not be based on the secondary pathology service, remove the indication of the base pathology fee for the secondary pathology service within the user interface and determine the recommended price for the indicated healthcare service set without considering the base pathology fee calculated for the secondary pathology service. 
     
     
         26 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the data storage system further stores a service offer database and a profile database that are maintained by the application server,
 wherein the service offer database comprises a plurality of service offer information records respectively associated with a plurality of service offers, the plurality of service offers including at least one service offer for a bundled set of services, each service offer information record comprising an indication of a primary service of the associated service offer, a purchase price for the associated service offer, a payment amount for the primary service, and compensation information for the primary service,   wherein the profile database comprises a respective account information record for each of a plurality of user accounts for service providers registered with the application server, the account information record for each user account comprising information for authorizing a user accessing the network service from one of the client systems to access the network service in association with the user account,   wherein the network service is operable to allow a user operating one of the client systems to access the pricing tool of the network service via the user interface provided by the client application implemented on the client system in association with a provider account to, upon the pricing tool receiving an indication of a healthcare service set that is respectively associated with a service detail information record included in the service pricing information database, create a service offer based on the indicated healthcare service set for purchase via the network service by accessing a user interface element within user interface to submit a set of information for the service offer to the network service that includes the service detail information record for the indicated healthcare service set and indications of the adjusted physician fee calculated for the primary service of the indicated healthcare service set and the recommended price determined for the indicated healthcare service set to the network service, and,   wherein, in response to receiving the set of information for the service offer, establish a service offer information record associated with the service offer and the provider account within the service offer database in which the purchase price for the associated service offer is based on the recommended price determined for the indicated healthcare service set and the payment amount for the primary service of the associated service offer is based on the adjusted physician fee calculated for the primary service of the indicated healthcare service set.   
     
     
         27 . A method for pricing offers of healthcare services by healthcare service providers, the method comprising:
 providing, at an application server, a network service that is accessible to users through a plurality of client systems communicatively coupled to the application server via a network and includes a pricing tool that is accessible via a user interface provided by a client application implemented on each of the client systems;   maintaining, in a data storage system, a service pricing information database and a cost adjustment information database that are accessible by the application server, where the service pricing information database comprises a plurality of service detail information records respectively associated with a plurality of healthcare service sets, the plurality of healthcare service sets include at least one healthcare service set that is comprised of a bundled set of services, each service detail information record comprises an identifier of a primary service of the respectively associated healthcare service set and a set of base pricing metrics for the primary service, and the cost adjustment information database comprises a first set of cost adjustment metrics for each of a plurality of geographic zones that is correlated with the sets of base pricing metrics for the primary services of the service detail information records;   receiving, upon a user operating one of the client systems to access the pricing tool of the network service via the user interface provided by the client application implemented on the client system, an indication via the user interface of a healthcare service set that is respectively associated with a service detail information record included in the service pricing information database;   determining a base physician fee for the primary service of the indicated healthcare service set based on the set of base pricing metrics for the primary service included in the service detail information record;   receiving a location indication that specifies a location for performing the primary service;   performing a calculation of an adjusted physician fee for the primary service based on the first set of cost adjustment metrics for a geographic zone of the plurality of geographic zones that corresponds to the location specified by the location indication;   determining a recommended price for the indicated healthcare service set based on the adjusted physician fee calculated for the primary service; and   providing respective indications of the adjusted physician fee calculated for the primary service and the recommended price determined for the indicated healthcare service set within the user interface.   
     
     
         28 . The method of  claim 27 , further comprising, in response to receiving input via the user interface pertaining to the calculation of the adjusted physician fee for the primary service of the indicated healthcare service set, recalculating the adjusted physician fee for the primary service based on the input received via the user interface; and
 determining the recommended price for the indicated healthcare service set based on the adjusted physician fee recalculated for the primary service.   
     
     
         29 . The method of  claim 27 , further comprising maintaining, in the data storage system, a service offer database and a profile database that are maintained by the application server, where the service offer database comprises a plurality of service offer information records respectively associated with a plurality of service offers, the plurality of service offers include at least one service offer for a bundled set of services, each service offer information record comprises an indication of a primary service of the associated service offer, a purchase price for the associated service offer, a payment amount for the primary service, and compensation information for the primary service, the profile database comprises a respective account information record for each of a plurality of user accounts for service providers registered with the application server, and the account information record for each user account comprises information for authorizing a user accessing the network service from one of the client systems to access the network service in association with the user account;
 upon receiving the indication of a healthcare service set that is respectively associated with a service detail information record included in the service pricing information database, receiving a submission from a user operating one of the client systems to access the pricing tool of the network service in association with a provider account via a user interface element within the user interface of a set of information for creating a service offer based on the indicated healthcare service set that includes the service detail information record for the indicated healthcare service set and indications of the adjusted physician fee calculated for the primary service of the indicated healthcare service set and the recommended price determined for the indicated healthcare service set to the network service; and   creating the service offer based on the indicated healthcare service set for purchase via the network service based on the set of information for creating the service offer by establishing a service offer information record associated with the service offer and the provider account within the service offer database in which the purchase price for the associated service offer is based on the recommended price determined for the indicated healthcare service set and the payment amount for the primary service of the associated service offer is based on the adjusted physician fee calculated for the primary service of the indicated healthcare service set.   
     
     
         30 . A system for pricing offers of healthcare services by healthcare service providers, the system comprising:
 an application server providing a network service that includes a pricing tool;   a plurality of client systems configured to communicatively couple to the application server via a network to access the pricing tool of the network service via a user interface provided by a client application implemented on each of the client systems; and   a data storage system storing a service pricing information database and a cost adjustment information database that are accessible by the application server, the service pricing information database comprising a plurality of service detail information records respectively associated with a plurality of healthcare service sets, the plurality of healthcare service sets including at least one healthcare service set that is comprised of a bundled set of services, each service detail information record comprising an identifier of a primary service of the respectively associated healthcare service set and a set of base pricing metrics for the primary service, the cost adjustment information database comprising a first set of cost adjustment metrics for each of a plurality of geographic zones that is correlated with the sets of base pricing metrics for the primary services of the service detail information records, and   wherein, upon a user operating one of the client systems to access the pricing tool of the network service via the user interface provided by the client application implemented on the client system, the pricing tool is operable to receive an indication via the user interface of a healthcare service set that is respectively associated with a service detail information record included in the service pricing information database, determine a base physician fee for the primary service of the indicated healthcare service set based on the set of base pricing metrics for the primary service included in the service detail information record, receive a location indication that specifies a location for performing the primary service, perform a calculation of an adjusted physician fee for the primary service based on the first set of cost adjustment metrics for a geographic zone of the plurality of geographic zones that corresponds to the location specified by the location indication, determine a recommended price for the indicated healthcare service set based on the adjusted physician fee calculated for the primary service, and provide respective indications of the adjusted physician fee calculated for the primary service and the recommended price determined for the indicated healthcare service set within the user interface.
