Abstract

A flexible display device including a flexible display unit; and a controller configured to receive a first touch input at a first position on the flexible display unit in a flat state, store, in a memory, first position information of the first touch input that is offset a first predetermined amount from the first position, receive a second touch input at the first position on the flexible display unit in a first bent state, and store, in the memory, second position information of the second touch input that is offset a second predetermined amount from the first position. Further, the first predetermined amount of offset is greater than the second predetermined amount of offset.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A flexible display device comprising:
a flexible display unit; and a controller configured to: receive a first touch input at a first position on the flexible display unit in a flat state, store, in a memory, first position information of the first touch input that is offset a first predetermined amount from the first position, receive a second touch input at the first position on the flexible display unit in a first bent state, and store, in the memory, second position information of the second touch input that is offset a second predetermined amount from the first position, wherein the first predetermined amount of offset is greater than the second predetermined amount of offset.

2 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein the controller is further configured to:
receive a third touch input at the first position on the flexible display unit in a second bent state, and store, in the memory, third position information of the third touch input that is offset a third predetermined amount from the first position.

3 . The device according to claim 2 , wherein the second bent state is a state in which a bending angle of the flexible display unit is greater than that in the first bent state based on an identical bending axis.

4 . The device according to claim 2 , wherein the first and second position information are offset in a direction from the first position away from a bending axis of the flexible display device.

5 . The device according to claim 4 , wherein the third position information is offset in a direction from the first position toward the bending axis.

6 . The device according to claim 2 , wherein the flexible display unit is set to the first bent state when the bending angle is below a threshold angle, and
wherein the flexible display unit is set to the second bent state when the bending angle exceeds the threshold angle.

7 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein the controller is further configured to store position information of the second touch input that is not offset the second predetermined amount from the first position, when a bending angle at the first position is less than a threshold angle.

8 . The device according to claim 7 , wherein the threshold angle is the bending angle of the flexible display unit when an angle between eyes of a user looking at the first position and the flexible display unit is substantially a right angle.

9 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein the first and second predetermined amount of offsets increase as the first position is farther away from where eyes of a user looking at the first position and the flexible display unit are substantially perpendicular to each other.

10 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein the controller is further configured to apply the touch input to an object displayed at a position corresponding to the stored first or second position information of the touch input.

11 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein the offset of the second position information is reduced when the touch input in contact with the flexible display unit is dragged from the first position toward a bending axis of the flexible display device.

12 . A method of controlling a flexible display device, the method comprising:
receiving, via a controller of the flexible display device, a first touch input at a first position on the flexible display unit in a flat state; storing, in a memory, first position information of the first touch input that is offset a first predetermined amount from the first position; receiving, via the controller, a second touch input at the first position on the flexible display unit in a first bent state; and storing, in the memory, second position information of the second touch input that is offset a second predetermined amount from the first position, wherein the first predetermined amount of offset is greater than the second predetermined amount of offset.

13 . The method according to claim 12 , further comprising:
receiving a third touch input at the first position on the flexible display unit in a second bent state; and storing, in the memory, third position information of the third touch input that is offset a third predetermined amount from the first position.

14 . The method according to claim 13 , wherein the second bent state is a state in which a bending angle of the flexible display unit is greater than that in the first bent state based on an identical bending axis.

15 . The method according to claim 13 , wherein the first and second position information are offset in a direction from the first position away from a bending axis of the flexible display device.

16 . The method according to claim 15 , wherein the third position information is offset in a direction from the first position toward the bending axis.

17 . The method according to claim 13 , wherein the flexible display unit is set to the first bent state when the bending angle is below a threshold angle, and wherein the flexible display unit is set to the second bent state when the bending angle exceeds the threshold angle.

18 . The method according to claim 12 , wherein the controller is further configured to store position information of the second touch input that is not offset the second predetermined amount from the first position, when a bending angle at the first position is less than a threshold angle.

19 . The method according to claim 18 , wherein the threshold angle is the bending angle of the flexible display unit when an angle between eyes of a user looking at the first position and the flexible display unit is substantially a right angle.
