Sms message notification arrangement
Abstract
A method for applying personalized rules to an incoming e-mail message includes receiving an e-mail message addressed to a user and forwarding a copy of the e-mail message to a mobile communication device associated with the user. One or more pre-defined rules associated with the user are applied to the e-mail message. At least one of the pre-defined rules is identified that the e-mail message satisfies. The identified rule specifies that a text message such as an SMS message be sent to the mobile communication device indicating that an e-mail message satisfying the pre-defined rule has been received. The text message includes a link that allows the user to directly access the e-mail with the mobile communication device's user interface.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method performed on at least one computing device that includes at east one processor and memory, the method comprising:
sending, by the at least one computing device to a second device in response to a message being sent to the second device that is considered a priority message, a real-time message that includes a link to the sent message at a location on the second device, where the real-time message is distinct from the message.
2 . The method of claim 1 where the message is an email message.
3 . The method of claim 1 where the real-time message includes a portion of the message.
4 . The method of claim 1 where the second device is a mobile communications device.
5 . The method of claim 1 where the real-time message identifies a sender of the message or an email address of the sender.
6 . The method of claim 1 where the real-time message, upon receipt by the second device, indicates receipt of the sent message by the second device.
7 . The method of claim 1 where the message is considered a priority message based on being designated high priority.
8 . A system comprising:
at least one processor; memory; and computer-executable instructions stored at least in part in the memory, where the computer executable instructions, based on execution by the at least one processor, configure the system to:
send, by the system to a second device in response to a message being sent to the second device that is considered a priority message, a real-time message that includes a link to the sent message at a location on the second device, where the real-time message is distinct from the message.
9 . The system of claim 8 where the message is an email message.
10 . The system of claim 8 where the real-time message includes a portion of the message.
11 . The system of claim 8 where the second device is a mobile communications device.
12 . The system of claim 8 where the real-time message identifies a sender of the message or an email address of the sender.
13 . The system of claim 8 where the real-time message, upon receipt by the second device, indicates receipt of the sent message by the second device.
14 . The system of claim 8 where the message is considered a priority message based on being designated high priority.
15 . At least one computer-readable media comprising:
memory that comprises computer-executable instructions that, based on execution by at least one processor of at least one computing device, configure the computing device to perform actions comprising:
sending, by the at least one computing device to a second device in response to a message being sent to the second device that is considered a priority message, a real-time message that includes a link to the sent message at a location on the second device, where the real-time message is distinct from the message.
16 . The at least one computer-readable media of claim 15 where the message is an email message, or where the real-time message includes a portion of the message.
17 . The at least one computer-readable media of claim 15 where the second device is a mobile communications device.
18 . The at least one computer-readable media of claim 15 where the real-time message identifies a sender of the message or an email address of the sender.
19 . The at least one computer-readable media of claim 15 where the real-time message, upon receipt by the second device, indicates receipt of the sent message by the second device.
20 . The at least one computer-readable media of claim 15 where the message is considered a priority message based on being designated high priority.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
