Abstract

An assembly includes an inflatable, dome-like cover that is configured to rest atop an existing swimming pool. The cover has an inflatable portion that repels dirt, debris, water, and snow, preventing such debris from collecting thereon. The cover is produced from heavy duty, yet lightweight plastic or rubber material. The cover may sized and configured to fit a pool of any dimensions. Extending along a perimeter of the inflatable portion is a border about which openings are evenly spaced, through which tethers or cords may be tied for securing the assembly to the pool. At least one air valve is positioned proximal to the outer edge of the cover, enabling a user to inflate the assembly.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . An inflatable cover for preventing debris from entering a pool or like body of water while simultaneously preventing fluids and debris from collecting on top of the cover, said cover comprising:
 a dome-like sheet, comprising:
 a top layer;
 a bottom layer, wherein said top layer and bottom layer connected and sealed only along an outer periphery of said top layer and bottom layer forming a chamber therebetween and at least one air valve proximal to an outer edge of said dome-like sheet; and
   a securing assembly for affixing the position of the dome-like sheet, said securing assembly comprising:
 a tie-down member having a first end and a second end;
 a first anchor device on the first end of said tie-down member;
 a second anchor device on the second end of said tie-down member; and
 a ground attachment device.

         2 . The inflatable cover according to claim 1 , wherein the tie-down member comprises a strap, rope, cable, or an elastomeric cord.

         3 . The inflatable cover according to claim 2 , wherein the tie-down member further comprises an adjustment mechanism.

         4 . The inflatable cover according to claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first anchor device and second anchor device comprises a knot, a hook, a toggle, a clasp, or a clip.

         5 . The inflatable cover according to claim 1 , wherein, in a first position, said at least one air valve provides an opening to enable air to be admitted to said chamber.

         6 . The inflatable cover according to claim 1 , wherein, in a second position, said at least one air valve provides a seal to prevent air within said chamber from leaking out of said chamber.

         7 . The inflatable cover according to claim 1 , wherein said at least one air valve is sized and configured to be attached to an air pump.

         8 . The inflatable cover according to claim 1 , further comprising a border extending along a perimeter of said dome-like sheet.

         9 . The inflatable cover according to claim 8 , wherein the border includes a plurality of openings spaced around said border.

         10 . The inflatable cover according to claim 10 , wherein said plurality of openings are fitted with grommets.

         11 . The inflatable cover according to claim 1 , wherein said top layer and said bottom layer are sealed by a process selected from the group consisting of:
 heat sealing; adhesive; and sonic welding.

         12 . An inflatable cover for preventing debris from entering a pool or like body of water while simultaneously preventing fluids and debris from collecting on top of the cover, said cover comprising:
 a dome-like sheet, comprising:
 a top layer connected and sealed to a bottom layer along an outer periphery of said top layer and bottom layer forming a chamber therebetween and at least one air valve proximal to said sealed outer periphery of said dome-like sheet; and
 a skirt connected to and extending from said sealed outer periphery; and
   a securing assembly for affixing the position of the dome-like sheet, said securing assembly comprising:
 a tie-down member having a first end and a second end;
 a first anchor device on the first end of said tie-down member;
 a second anchor device on the second end of said tie-down member; and
 a ground attachment device.

         13 . The inflatable cover of claim 12 , wherein said skirt includes a plurality of openings spaced around said skirt.

         14 . The inflatable cover according to claim 13 , wherein said plurality of openings are fitted with grommets.

         15 . The inflatable cover according to claim 12 , wherein said top layer and said bottom layer are sealed by a process selected from the group consisting of:
 heat sealing; adhesive; and sonic welding.

         16 . The inflatable cover according to claim 12 , wherein said skirt includes a weighted outer edge.

         17 . The inflatable cover according to claim 12 , wherein the tie-down member further comprises an adjustment mechanism.

         18 . The inflatable cover according to claim 12 , wherein at least one of the first anchor device and second anchor device comprises a knot, a hook, a toggle, a clasp, or a clip.

         19 . The inflatable cover according to claim 12 , wherein, in a first position, said at least one air valve provides an opening to enable air to be admitted to said chamber.

         20 . The inflatable cover according to claim 12 , wherein said at least one air valve is sized and configured to be attached to an air pump.
