Devices and methods for a bottle cover

Abstract

A cover for a bottle container, including a bottle neck engagement section having arms forming a semi-flexible, generally U-shaped arcuate surface around the neck of the bottle, the bottle neck cover connected to an arm and a lid pivotally connected to the arm, the arm having an aperture allowing adjustability of the distance between the bottle neck engagement section and the lid pivotally connected to the arm. The lid operably pivotable between an open position and closing position. The cover may have a sealing member and a fastening mechanism for maintaining the lid in a closing position.

1 . A cover for a bottle container comprising:
 a bottle neck engagement section having a pair of arms for operably engaging around a neck of the bottle container;   an arm having an aperture;   a lid pivotally connected to the arm at a first location, the lid comprising a lid base and a lever portion, the lid pivotable between an open position and a closing position; and   connecting means for operably connecting the bottle neck engagement section to the arm at a second location;   wherein the connecting means is adjustable within the aperture such that a distance between the first connection location and the second connection location can be adjusted.   
     
     
         2 . The cover of  claim 1 , wherein the aperture has a length of about 0.25 inches to about 1 inch. 
     
     
         3 . The cover of  claim 1 , wherein the connecting means comprises a screw that operably couples to a nut. 
     
     
         4 . The cover of  claim 3 , wherein the nut is integral with the bottle neck engagement section. 
     
     
         5 . The cover of  claim 1 , wherein the lid further comprises a seal that operably inserts into a mouth of the bottle container when the lid is in the closing position. 
     
     
         6 . The cover of  claim 5 , wherein the seal comprises a core portion and one or more rib sections, the rib section having a diameter that is larger than a diameter of the core portion. 
     
     
         7 . The cover of  claim 1 , wherein the lid further comprises a top surface that is connected to a lid topper. 
     
     
         8 . The cover of  claim 7 , wherein the lid topper is adhered to the top surface. 
     
     
         9 . The cover of  claim 1 , wherein the connecting means adjustable within the aperture allows the lid to be in a substantially horizontal position in the closing position. 
     
     
         10 . A cover for a bottle container comprising:
 a bottle neck engagement section having a pair of arms for operably engaging around a neck of the bottle container;   an arm having an aperture;   a lid pivotally connected to the arm at a first location, the lid comprising a lid base and a lever portion, the lid pivotable between an open position and a closing position;   connecting means for operably connecting the bottle neck engagement section to the arm at a second location, the connecting means being adjustable within the aperture to provide a desired distance between the first location and the second location; and   at least one seal member connected to a bottom surface of the lid base, the at least one seal member comprising an elastomeric material that operably inserts into the mouth of the bottle container in the closing position.   
     
     
         11 . The cover of  claim 10 , wherein the at least one seal member is fastened or adhered to a bottom surface of the lid base. 
     
     
         12 . The cover of  claim 10 , wherein the connecting means comprises a screw that traverses the aperture and operably couples to a receptive fastening portion. 
     
     
         13 . The cover of  claim 10 , wherein the aperture has a length of about 0.25 inches to about 1 inch. 
     
     
         14 . The cover of  claim 10 , wherein the seal member having a core section and at least one rib section, the at least one rib section operably engaging an inner wall of the bottle container when the lid is in the closing position. 
     
     
         15 . The cover of  claim 10 , wherein the lid further comprises a top surface that is operably connected to a lid topper. 
     
     
         16 . The cover of  claim 10 , further comprising one or more magnets located proximate the arm, the lever portion, the pin, a backside of the lid, or combinations thereof, wherein the one or more magnets maintain the lid in the open position absent a user moving the lid to the closing position. 
     
     
         17 . A bottle container and cover system, the system comprising:
 a bottle have a bottle neck;   a bottle cover, the bottle cover comprising:   a bottle neck engagement section having a pair of arms for operably engaging around a neck of the bottle container;   an arm having an aperture;   a lid pivotally connected to the arm at a first location, the lid comprising a lid base and a lever portion, the lid pivotable between an open position and a closing position; and   connecting means for operably connecting the bottle neck engagement section to the arm at a second location;   wherein the connecting means is adjustable within the aperture such that a distance between the first connection location and the second connection location can be adjusted.   
     
     
         18 . The system of  claim 17 , wherein the lid further comprises a top surface that is connected to a lid topper. 
     
     
         19 . The system of  claim 17 , wherein the lid topper is adhered to the top surface. 
     
     
         20 . The system of  claim 17 , wherein the connecting means comprises a screw that traverses the aperture and operably couples to a receptive fastening portion
