Abstract
A method of manufacturing an aerosol dispenser. The method comprises making part of the dispenser having an outer container at a first location, and sealing that container. The sealed container may be charged with propellant. The sealed container may then be shipped to a second location to add product and complete manufacture.

1 . A method of manufacturing an aerosol dispenser, said method comprising the steps of:
providing a pressurized container at a first location, said pressurized container comprising an outer container having a neck therein, a valve assembly mounted in said neck for selectively dispensing product therefrom, a product delivery device for holding product within said outer container, and propellant within said outer container for pressurizing said outer container and said product delivery device; transporting said pressurized container to a second location, said second location being remote from said first location; and installing a product into said product delivery device at said second location.
2 . A method of manufacturing an aerosol dispenser, said method comprising the steps of:
providing a pressurizable container at a first location, said pressurizable container comprising an outer container having a neck therein, a valve assembly mounted in said neck for selectively dispensing product therefrom, a product delivery device for holding product within said outer container; transporting said pressurizable container to a second location, said second location being remote from said first location; installing propellant within said outer container for pressurizing said outer container and said product delivery device to form a pressurized container; installing a product into said product delivery device; decorating said outer container; and transporting said aerosol dispenser to a customer for use and/or sale.
3 . A method of manufacturing a plurality of aerosol dispensers, said method comprising the steps of:
providing a plurality of pressurizable containers at a first plurality of first locations, said pressurizable containers comprising an outer container having a neck therein, a valve assembly mounted in said neck for selectively dispensing product therefrom, a product delivery device for holding product within said outer container, charging said outer containers with propellant at said first locations, said propellant being disposed within said outer containers to pressurize said outer containers and said respective product delivery devices therein; transporting said pressurized containers from said first plurality of first locations to a second plurality of second locations, said second locations being remote from said first locations; and installing a product into each said product delivery device at a respective said second location.
4 . A method according to claim 1 wherein said step of providing a pressurized container comprises the step of providing a pressurized container free of metal components.
5 . A method according to claim 4 wherein said step of providing a pressurized container comprises the step of providing a pressurized container having a valve cup sealed to said neck of said outer container, said product delivery device being joined to said valve cup.
6 . A method according to claim 5 wherein said step of providing a pressurized container comprises the step of providing a pressurized container having a product delivery device comprising a collapsible bag, said collapsible bag being joined to said valve cup.
7 . A method according to claim 4 wherein said step of transporting said pressurized container to a second location remote from said first location comprises the step of transporting said pressurized container from a first location in a first country to a second location in a second country.
8 . A method according to claim 2 further comprising the steps of transporting said pressurized container to a third location, wherein said product is added to said product delivery device.
9 . A method according to claim 8 further comprising the steps of transporting said aerosol dispenser to a fourth location after substantial depletion of product therefrom and refilling said product delivery device with a second charge of product.
10 . A method according to claim 9 wherein said step of refilling said product delivery device comprises the step of refilling said product delivery device with a different product than was installed at said second location.
11 . A method according to claim 10 wherein said step of providing a pressurized container having a product delivery device comprises the step of providing a product delivery device comprising a flexible bag sealed to a valve cup, said valve cup being joined to said neck of said outer container.
12 . A method according to claim 3 wherein said step of transporting said plurality of pressurized containers from said first plurality of locations to said second plurality of locations comprises the step of transporting at least some of said pressurized containers from a single first location to plural second locations.
13 . A method according to claim 12 wherein said step of transporting said plurality of pressurized containers to plural second locations comprises the step of transporting at least some of said pressurized containers to second locations which are domestic relative to said first locations.
14 . A method according to claim 13 wherein said step of transporting said plurality of pressurized containers to plural second locations further comprises the step of transporting at least some of said pressurized containers directly from a first location to at least one second location which is foreign relative to said first locations.
