Support system
Abstract
A support system for supporting items, such as hung garments, enables the items to swing flush against a mounting surface for storage and swing outwardly up to 180° for display and access. The system includes a frame portion that joins with a mounting surface through fasteners and a gripping portion having a plurality of nodules, which press against the mounting surface and deform into a gripping configuration. At least one support portion joins with the frame portion. A frame end engages a swing reception aperture to create a pivoting motion. An item end attaches to the frame end and carries the items. A connector forms a joint between the frame end and the item end. A cap on the end of the item end restricts the item from moving past a terminal point on the item end.

1 . A system comprising:
a frame portion disposed to join with a mounting surface, said frame portion configured to support said system, said frame portion comprising a mounting end configured to engage said mounting surface, said frame portion further comprising at least one swing reception aperture configured to enable a swinging motion; at least one support portion disposed to join with said frame portion, said at least one support portion configured to at least partially support at least one item, said at least one support portion comprising a frame end disposed to at least partially enter said at least one swing reception aperture, said frame end comprising a frame end diameter equal to or less than said at least one swing reception aperture for enabling said frame end to swing at least 180 degrees in relation to said mounting surface, said at least one support portion further comprising an item end disposed to join with said frame end, said item end configured to at least partially support said at least one item; and at least one connector disposed to join said frame end with said item end, said at least one connector configured to enable said frame end to rotate in relation to said item end.
2 . The system of claim 1 , in which said at least one item comprises a hanger supporting a garment.
3 . The system of claim 2 , in which said mounting surface comprises a vertical wall.
4 . The system of claim 3 , in which said frame portion comprises a substantially rectangular H-shaped frame, said substantially rectangular H-shaped frame comprising a pair of outer rods and a pair of perpendicular inner rods.
5 . The system of claim 4 , in which said pair of outer rods is disposed to space about 20 inches apart.
6 . The system of claim 5 , in which said mounting end comprises a grip portion configured to enhance a grip between said mounting surface and said mounting end.
7 . The system of claim 6 , in which said grip portion comprises a plurality of rubber nodules.
8 . The system of claim 7 , in which said plurality of nodules comprise a tear drop shape configured to form a vacuum and a frictional force with said mounting surface.
9 . The system of claim 8 , in which said frame portion comprises a front end disposed to face outwardly from said mounting surface.
10 . The system of claim 9 , in which said frame portion comprises at least one mounting member, said at least one mounting member comprising at least one hook configured to mount said frame portion to a door or linear surface.
11 . The system of claim 10 , in which said at least one support portion comprises a pair of support portions spaced about 20 inches apart.
12 . The system of claim 11 , in which said at least one support portion is operable to swing outwardly at a 90 degree angle in relation to said mounting surface.
13 . The system of claim 12 , in which said at least one support portion is operable to swing inwardly and flush with said mounting surface.
14 . The system of claim 13 , in which said frame end and said item end are oriented about 90 degrees relative to each other.
15 . The system of claim 14 , in which said at least one connector comprises an elbow joint.
16 . The system of claim 15 , in which said system comprises a plurality of fasteners configured to at least partially fasten said frame end to said item end, and said frame portion to said mounting surface, said plurality of fasteners configured to at least partially pass through a plurality of mounting apertures.
17 . The system of claim 16 , in which said system comprises at least one cap disposed to at least partially cover at least one terminal point of said frame portion and said at least one support portion.
18 . The system of claim 17 , in which said at least one cap comprises an extended circumferential lip for inhibiting movement of said at least one item and for forming a generally smooth surface.
19 . A system comprising:
means for joining a frame portion with a mounting surface; means for engaging a mounting end with said mounting surface; means for engaging a grip portion with said mounting surface; means for at least partially enabling a plurality of fasteners to at least partially pass through a plurality of mounting apertures; means for joining at least one support portion with said frame portion; means for engaging at least one swing reception aperture with a frame end; means for joining an item end with said frame end through at least one connector; means for carrying at least one item with said item end; means for swinging said item end up to 180 degrees in relation to said mounting surface; and means for supporting said at least one item.
20 . A system consisting of:
a frame portion disposed to join with a mounting surface, said frame portion configured to support said system, said frame portion comprising a substantially rectangular H-shaped frame, said substantially rectangular H-shaped frame comprising a pair of outer rods and a pair of perpendicular inner rods, said pair of outer rods disposed to be spaced about 20 inches apart, said frame portion further comprising a mounting end configured to engage said mounting surface, said mounting end comprising a grip portion, said grip portion comprising a plurality of rubber nodules, said plurality of nodules comprising a tear drop shape configured to form a vacuum and a frictional force with said mounting surface, said frame portion further comprising at least one swing reception aperture configured to enable a swinging motion; at least one support portion disposed to join with said frame portion, said at least one support portion configured to at least partially support at least one item, said at least one support portion comprising a frame end disposed to at least partially enter said at least one swing reception aperture, said frame end comprising a frame end diameter equal to or less than said at least one swing reception aperture for enabling said frame end to swing at least 180 degrees in relation to said mounting surface, said at least one support portion further comprising an item end disposed to join with said frame end, said item end configured to at least partially support said at least one item, said at least one support portion operable to swing outwardly at a 90 degree angle in relation to said mounting surface, said at least one support portion further being operable to swing inwardly and flush with said mounting surface; at least one connector disposed to join said frame end with said item end, said at least one connector comprising at least one elbow joint, said at least one connector configured to enable said frame end to rotate in relation to said item end; a plurality of fasteners, said plurality of fasteners configured to at least partially fasten said frame end to said item end, and said frame portion to said mounting surface; at least one cap disposed to at least partially cover at least one terminal point of said frame portion and said at least one support portion, said at least one cap comprising an extended circumferential lip for inhibiting movement of said at least one item and for forming a generally smooth surface; and at least one mounting member, said at least one mounting member comprising at least one hook configured to mount said frame portion to a door.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
