Abstract

Aspects of the present invention relate to methods and systems for positioning content within an FOV of a HWC based on sensor feedback.

We claim: 
     
         1 . A method, comprising:
 a. Presenting content at a position within a field of view of a head-worn see-through display; and   b. Repositioning the content within the field of view based on a changed sight-heading of the head-worn display, wherein the repositioning occurs at a speed; and   c. Wherein the speed of the repositioning is damped and creates a misalignment of the content with a position consistent with the changed sight-heading if the sight-heading changes at a rate above a predetermined threshold.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the rate of change of the sight-heading is indicative of a high rate of change of head direction. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the rate of change of the sight-heading is indicative of a high rate of back and forth head direction. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the misalignment is not perceived by a user of the head-worn see-through display due to the sight-heading rate of change. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the speed of the repositioning is further dependent on an eye-heading rate of change. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the step of presenting the content at a position within the field of view of the head-worn see-through display involves producing image light at a front-lit reflective display. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein the reflective display is a DLP with a dark light trap. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein the reflective display is an LCoS. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein the head-worn see-through display includes an eye imaging system. 
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the user interacts with the content with an external user interface.
