Display device

Abstract

According to one embodiment, a display device includes a panel cell, a member structurally independent from the panel cell, and a fixing portion fixing the panel cell and the member.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A display device comprising:
 a backlight unit;   a panel cell comprising a first surface and a second surface, the first surface comprising a display area, the second surface opposite to the first surface and facing the backlight unit;   a supporting member provided on a periphery of the backlight unit, the supporting member forming a gap between the panel cell and the backlight unit; and   a fixing portion fixing the second surface of the panel cell to the supporting member.   
     
     
         2 . The display device of  claim 1 , wherein the panel cell is a glass cell. 
     
     
         3 . The display device of  claim 1 , wherein the supporting member comprises:
 a first portion facing a circumferential surface of the backlight unit; and   a second portion located between the panel cell and the backlight unit, the second portion comprising the fixing portion.   
     
     
         4 . The display device of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a back cover which faces the backlight unit on a side opposite to the side of the panel cell and to which the supporting member is fixed.   
     
     
         5 . The display device of  claim 1 , wherein the fixing portion is an adhesive portion. 
     
     
         6 . The display device of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a bezel comprising an opening exposing the display area.   
     
     
         7 . The display device of  claim 6 , wherein the bezel comprises an overlap portion facing the front surface, the overlap portion does not expose the fixing portion, and the fixing portion is opaque. 
     
     
         8 . The display device of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 an installation unit comprising an impact absorber, the installation unit configured to be between the backlight unit and a place where the display device is to be installed.   
     
     
         9 . The display device of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 an installation unit configured to be between the backlight unit and a place where the display device is to be installed; and   an impact absorber between the installation unit and the backlight unit.   
     
     
         10 . The display device of  claim 1 , further comprising
 a wire member provided in a central portion of the display area to cross thereinto, the wire member holding the display area.
