Abstract

Aspects of the present invention relate to methods and systems for positioning content within an FOV of a HWC based on sensor feedback.

We claim: 
     
         1 . A method, comprising:
 a. Buffering content for triggered presentation in a field of view of a see-through head-worn display;   b. Establishing a trigger at a sight-heading of the see-through head-worn display, wherein the trigger sight-heading is represented by an angle relative to a forward facing direction for a user of the head-worn see-through display and wherein the trigger sight-heading is outside of the field of view; and   c. Presenting at least a portion of the buffered content in the field of view when an edge of the field of view intersects with the trigger sight heading.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the step of presenting involves presenting the buffered content in a side panel format that appears, from a user's perspective, to appear when the user turns the user's head to the side. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the content can be retrieved by the user by turning the user's head past the trigger sight-heading. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the content can be removed from the field of view by turning the user's head forward of the trigger sight-heading. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the step of presenting the buffered content at a position within the field of view of the head-worn see-through display involves producing image light at a front-lit reflective display. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 5 , wherein the reflective display is a DLP with a dark light trap. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 5 , wherein the reflective display is an LCoS. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 5 , wherein the head-worn see-through display includes an eye imaging system. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the user interacts with the content, when presented, with an external user interface.
