Abstract

According to some embodiments, a system for a submerged pump includes a cryogenic storage tank and a pump chamber. The pump chamber is suspended from a top of the cryogenic storage tank in a vertical orientation. The pump chamber includes a liquid pump operable to pump cryogenic liquid from the cryogenic storage tank.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A system comprising:
 a cryogenic storage tank   a pump chamber suspended from a top of the cryogenic storage tank in a vertical orientation, the pump chamber comprising a liquid pump operable to pump cryogenic liquid from the cryogenic storage tank.   
     
     
         2 . The system of  claim 1 , further comprising a suction nozzle coupled to an end of the pump chamber, wherein the liquid pump is operable to pump cryogenic liquid from the cryogenic storage tank using the suction nozzle. 
     
     
         3 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the liquid pump is positioned vertically within the pump chamber. 
     
     
         4 . The system of  claim 1 , further comprising a discharge flange coupled to the liquid pump, the discharge flange configured to receive cryogenic liquid from the liquid pump and discharge the cryogenic liquid around the liquid pump such that the pump chamber is at least partially filled with the discharged cryogenic liquid. 
     
     
         5 . The system of  claim 1 , further comprising a discharge pipe, a first end of the discharge pipe coupled to the pump chamber, the discharge pipe configured to receive discharged cryogenic liquid from the pump chamber. 
     
     
         6 . The system of  claim 5 , wherein the discharge pipe is configured to suspend the pump chamber from the top of the cryogenic storage tank. 
     
     
         7 . The system of  claim 6 , further comprising an inner manway lid coupled to a second end of the discharge pipe, wherein the discharge pipe is configured to suspend the pump chamber from the top of the cryogenic storage tank using the inner manway lid. 
     
     
         8 . The system of  claim 1 , further comprising a purge pipe, a first end of the purge pipe coupled to the pump chamber and a second end of the purge pipe coupled to an inner manway lid of the cryogenic storage tank. 
     
     
         9 . The system of  claim 1 , further comprising an electrical conduit coupled to the pump chamber and operable to provide electricity to the liquid pump. 
     
     
         10 . The system of  claim 1 , further comprising alignment guides coupled to a bottom of the cryogenic storage tank and configured to secure the pump chamber within the cryogenic storage tank. 
     
     
         11 . A method comprising:
 suspending a pump chamber from a top of a cryogenic storage tank in a vertical orientation, the pump chamber comprising a liquid pump; and   pumping, by the liquid pump, cryogenic liquid from the cryogenic storage tank.   
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 11 , further comprising coupling a suction nozzle to an end of the pump chamber, wherein the liquid pump pumps cryogenic liquid from the cryogenic storage tank using the suction nozzle. 
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 11 , further comprising discharging cryogenic liquid pumped by the liquid pump around the liquid pump such that the pump chamber is at least partially filled with the discharged cryogenic liquid. 
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 13 , further comprising coupling a discharge flange to the liquid pump, wherein the cryogenic liquid pumped by the liquid pump is discharged around the liquid pump using the discharge flange. 
     
     
         15 . The method of  claim 11 , further comprising:
 coupling a first end of a discharge pipe to the pump chamber; and   coupling a second end of the discharge pipe to the top of the cryogenic storage tank;   wherein the discharge pipe is configured to suspend the pump chamber from the top of the cryogenic storage tank.   
     
     
         16 . The method of  claim 15 , wherein cryogenic liquid pumped by the liquid pump is discharged from the cryogenic storage tank using the discharge pipe. 
     
     
         17 . The method of  claim 11 , wherein suspending the pump chamber from the top of the cryogenic storage tank comprises suspending the pump chamber from an inner manway lid of the cryogenic storage tank. 
     
     
         18 . The method of  claim 11 , further comprising:
 coupling a first end of a purge pipe to the pump chamber; and   coupling a second end of the purge pipe to the top of the cryogenic storage tank.   
     
     
         19 . The method of  claim 11 , further comprising:
 coupling an electrical conduit to the pump chamber; and   providing electricity to the liquid pump using the electrical conduit.   
     
     
         20 . The method of  claim 11 , further comprising:
 coupling alignment guides to a bottom of the cryogenic storage tank; and   securing the pump chamber within the cryogenic storage tank using the alignment guides.
