Center-foldable seat back, seat with the same, and method of manufacturing center-foldable seat back

Abstract

A center-foldable seat back has a seat back upper part that can be tilted forward relative to a seat back lower part. A trim cover is provided, sewn along the entire periphery at the mutual contact position of an upper and lower cover, the pulled-in state is modulated by cloth pieces, thereby preventing wrinkles. The seat back is provided with the trim cover in which one cloth piece one side edge of which is sewn to the ends of the lower and upper cover is provided at least in the central portion on the inside of the trim cover, the cloth piece is extended inward, the other side edge thereof is sewn to a fastener, the central portion on the back side is extended inward and sewn to the fastener, and the central portion on the inside of the trim cover is sewn to open and close by one fastener.

         17 . A seat comprising:
 a center-foldable seat back in which a seat back upper part tilts forward relative to a seat back lower part, the seat back comprising:
 a fixed side frame; 
 a movable frame that is rotatable relative to the fixed side frame; and 
 a mounting member for rotatably mounting the movable frame to the fixed side frame; 
   wherein:
 the mounting member comprises a rotational axis and an upper extension portion extending upward from the rotational axis; and 
 the upper extension portion is disposed at a higher position than a lower end portion of the movable frame. 
   
     
     
         18 . The seat according to  claim 17 , further comprising:
 a first connecting member that connects between side parts of the movable frame at a lower part of the movable frame;   
       wherein:
 first connecting points at which the first connecting member is connected to the side parts of the movable frame are located below an upper end portion of the upper extension portion. 
 
     
     
         19 . The seat according to  claim 17 , further comprising:
 a second connecting member that connects between side parts of the movable frame;   
       wherein:
 second connecting points at which the second connecting member is connected to the side parts of the movable frame are located above the upper extension portion. 
 
     
     
         20 . The seat according to  claim 19 , wherein:
 the second connecting member comprises a bent portion that is bent downward; and   the bent portion is disposed below the second connecting points.   
     
     
         21 . The seat according to  claim 19 , wherein:
 the second connecting member comprises a bent portion that is bent downward and is provided in a central part of the second connecting member in a seat right-to-left direction; and   the bent portion is disposed below the second connecting points.   
     
     
         22 . The seat according to  claim 17 , wherein the mounting member comprises a U-section portion that has a U-shape in cross-section. 
     
     
         23 . The seat according to  claim 18 , wherein:
 the mounting member comprises a U-section portion that has a U-shape in cross-section; and   the U-section portion and at least one of the first connecting points are disposed in a same horizontal plane.   
     
     
         24 . The seat according to  claim 22 , wherein an opening of the U-section portion faces toward an inner side of the seat. 
     
     
         25 . The seat according to  claim 19 , further comprising:
 a first connecting member that connects between side parts of the movable frame at a lower part of the movable frame;   
       wherein:
 each of the side parts of the movable frame comprises a pipe member; 
 the mounting member comprises a U-section portion that has a U-shape in cross-section; 
 at least one of the side parts of the movable frame is accommodated in an inside of an opening of the U-section portion; and 
 a portion accommodated in the inside of the opening of the U-section portion of the at least one of the side parts is disposed between the first connecting member and the second connecting member. 
 
     
     
         26 . The seat according to  claim 20 , further comprising:
 a first connecting member that connects between side parts of the movable frame at a lower part of the movable frame;   
       wherein:
 the bent portion is disposed behind the first connecting member; and 
 at least a part of the bent portion and the first connecting member are disposed in a same horizontal plane. 
 
     
     
         27 . A seat comprising:
 a center-foldable seat back in which a seat back upper part tilts forward relative to a seat back lower part, the seat back comprising:
 a fixed side frame; 
 a headrest support frame for supporting a headrest; and 
 a mounting member for rotatably mounting the headrest support frame to the fixed side frame; 
   wherein:
 the mounting member is disposed between the fixed side frame and the headrest support frame in a seat right-to-left direction; and 
 an upper end portion of the mounting member is disposed at a higher position than a lower end portion of the headrest support frame. 
   
     
     
         28 . The seat according to  claim 27 , further comprising:
 a first connecting member that connects between side parts of the headrest support frame at a lower part of the headrest support frame;   
       wherein:
 the mounting member comprises an upper extension portion extending upward; and 
 first connecting points at which the first connecting member is connected to the side parts of the headrest support frame are located below an upper end portion of the upper extension portion. 
 
     
     
         29 . The seat according to  claim 27 , further comprising:
 a second connecting member that connects between side parts of the headrest support frame;   
       wherein:
 the mounting member comprises an upper extension portion extending upward; and 
 second connecting points at which the second connecting member is connected to the side parts of the headrest support frame are located above the upper extension portion. 
 
     
     
         30 . The seat according to  claim 29 , wherein:
 the second connecting member comprises a bent portion that is bent downward; and   the bent portion is disposed below the second connecting points.   
     
     
         31 . The seat according to  claim 29 , wherein:
 the second connecting member comprises a bent portion that is bent downward and is provided in a central part of the second connecting member in the seat right-to-left direction; and   the bent portion is disposed below the second connecting points.   
     
     
         32 . The seat according to  claim 27 , wherein the mounting member comprises a U-section portion that has a U-shape in cross-section. 
     
     
         33 . The seat according to  claim 28 , wherein:
 the mounting member comprises a U-section portion that has a U-shape in cross-section; and   the U-section portion and at least one of the first connecting points are disposed in a same horizontal plane.   
     
     
         34 . The seat according to  claim 32 , wherein an opening of the U-section portion faces toward an inner side of the seat. 
     
     
         35 . The seat according to  claim 29 , further comprising:
 a first connecting member that connects between side parts of the headrest support frame at a lower part of the headrest support frame;   
       wherein:
 each of the side parts of the headrest support frame comprises a pipe member; 
 the mounting member comprises a U-section portion that has a U-shape in cross-section; 
 at least one of the side parts of the headrest support frame is accommodated in an inside of an opening of the U-section portion; and 
 a portion accommodated in the inside of the opening of the U-section portion of the at least one of the side parts is disposed between the first connecting member and the second connecting member. 
 
     
     
         36 . A seat comprising:
 a center-foldable seat back in which a seat back upper part tilts forward relative to a seat back lower part, the seat back comprising:
 a fixed side frame; 
 a headrest support frame for supporting a headrest; 
 a mounting member for rotatably mounting the headrest support frame to the fixed side frame; 
 a first connecting member that connects between side parts of the headrest support frame at first connecting points at a lower part of the headrest support frame; and 
 a second connecting member that connects between the side parts of the headrest support frame at second connecting points; 
   
       wherein:
 the mounting member is disposed between the fixed side frame and the headrest support frame in a seat right-to-left direction; 
 an upper end portion of the mounting member is disposed at a higher position than a lower end portion of the headrest support frame; 
 the second connecting member comprises a bent portion that is bent downward and is provided in a central part of the second connecting member in the seat right-to-left direction; 
 the bent portion is disposed below the second connecting points; 
 the mounting member comprises a U-section portion that has a U-shape in cross-section; and 
 the U-section portion and at least one of the first connecting points are disposed in a same horizontal plane.
