Universal pull cart attachment device and method to enhance golf play

Abstract

This disclosure generally relates to a universal pull cart attachment device and method to enhance golf play. In some cases, a universal pull cart attachment device having a displaceable member is coupled to a motorized golf cart to allow users to displace the member to interchangeably receive a handle of a conventional golf bag pull cart. A method of playing golf using such a universal pull cart attachment device is also provided.

1 . A motorized golf cart comprising:
 a motor for driving the cart;   a golf cart frame; and   a universal pull cart attachment, the attachment having a first retention member slidably coupled to a second retention member for translational displacement of the second retention member in a direction along a first axis of rotation between an engaged position and a disengaged position and configured such that when the second retention member is in the engaged position the second retention member cooperates with a hook of the first retention member to enable the attachment device to retain a handle of a pull cart.

         3 . A method of playing golf, comprising the steps of:
 hitting a ball to a first location;   traversing in a motorized cart at least partially to the first location, the motorized cart having a pull cart attachment, the attachment comprising a retention member;   displacing the retention member from a first engaged position to a second disengaged position to retrieve a pull cart retained therein; and   trailering the pull cart at least partially to the first location.   
     
     
         4 . A method of playing golf, comprising the steps of:
 hitting a first ball to a first location with a club of a first player;   hitting a second ball to a second location with a club of a second player;   traversing a first motorized cart containing the first player and the second player to the first location, the first motorized cart having a pull cart attachment, the attachment comprising a retention member;   displacing the retention member of the first motorized cart from a first engaged position to a second disengaged position to retrieve a first pull cart retained therein;   traversing the first motorized cart containing the second player to the second location;   hitting the first ball to a subsequent location with a club of the first player;   trailering the first pull cart from the first location to the subsequent location.   
     
     
         5 . The method of playing golf of  claim 4 , further comprising the steps of:
 hitting a third ball to a third location with a club of a third player;   hitting a fourth ball to a fourth location with a club of a fourth player;   traversing a second motorized cart containing the third player and the fourth player to the third location, the second motorized cart having a pull cart attachment, the attachment comprising a retention member.   displacing the retention member of the second motorized cart from a first engaged position to a second disengaged position to retrieve a third pull cart retained therein;   traversing the second motorized cart containing the fourth player to the fourth location;   hitting the third ball to a next location with a club of the third player;   trailering the third pull cart from the third location to the next location.   
     
     
         6 . The method of playing golf of  claim 5 , further comprising the steps of:
 attaching the first pull cart to the second motorized cart;   
     
     
         7 . The method of playing golf of  claim 6 , further comprising the steps of:
 traversing the second motorized cart containing the first player and the fourth player to a fifth location.   
     
     
         8 . The method of playing golf of  claim 5 , further comprising the steps of:
 attaching the third pull cart to the first motorized cart.   
     
     
         9 . The method of playing golf of  claim 8 , further comprising the steps of:
 traversing the first motorized cart containing the second player and the third player to a fifth location.
