Container for dispensing an adhesive in the form of a multi-component mixture
Abstract
A container for dispensing a multi-component mixture, comprising an dispensing opening, an interior which has at least two chambers separated from each other, which are used to accommodate one component each. The components can be combined and mixed in the interior. A hollow connecting pipe protrudes from the dispensing opening into the interior, which connecting pipe provides a connecting channel between the interior and the dispensing opening, wherein the connecting pipe is in contact with one of the components at the end of the connecting pipe opposite the dispensing opening before the mixing. A barrier is provided for the connecting pipe in order to prevent contamination of the connecting channel with said component, wherein the barrier means can be removed in order to dispense the multi-component mixture.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A container for dispensing an adhesive in the form of a multi-component mixture, the container having a dispensing opening, wherein an inner space is provided which has at least two separate chambers that are used for accommodating one component each, wherein devices are provided that allow combining and mixing of the components in the inner space, wherein a hollow connecting tube that protrudes from the dispensing opening into the inner space is provided, the connecting tube providing a connecting channel between the inner space and the dispensing opening, the connecting tube on its side opposite from the dispensing opening being in contact with one of the mixture components prior to mixing, and barrier means are provided for the connecting tube to prevent contamination of the connecting channel by this mixture component, the barrier means being removable for dispensing the multi-component mixture.
2 . A container according to claim 1 , wherein the connecting tube is closed at the dispensing opening and a gaseous barrier means is provided in the connecting channel, wherein the connecting tube on its side opposite from the dispensing opening and the viscosity of the first mixture component are selected in coordination with one another in such a way that an exchange of the gaseous barrier means with the first component in the closed state of the connecting tube may be prevented in order to prevent contamination of the connecting channel by this mixture component, wherein for dispensing the multi-component mixture, the gaseous barrier means is removable by opening the connecting tube at the dispensing opening.
3 . A container according to claim 2 , wherein the opening diameter of the connecting channel is in a range between 0.8 mm and 2.2 mm, and the dynamic viscosity of the one component is in a range of 6000 mPas to 80,000 mPas to prevent contamination of the connecting channel by the component, the barrier means being removable for dispensing the multi-component mixture.
4 . A container according to claim 1 , wherein the barrier means is a sealing pin which protrudes into the connecting channel and is removable via the dispensing opening, and which allows sealing of the connecting channel, at least in the portion of the connecting tube that protrudes into the inner space.
5 . A container according to claim 4 , wherein a closure means is provided for the dispensing opening, the closure means surrounding the sealing pin so that the sealing pin together with the closure means is removable to allow dispensing of the multi-component mixture via the dispensing opening.
6 . A container according to claim 4 , wherein the sealing pin completely fills at least a portion of the connecting channel.
7 . A container according to claim 4 , wherein the sealing pin in the installed state ends substantially adjacent the end of the connecting tube situated in the inner space.
8 . A container according to claim 4 , wherein the sealing pin is longer than the connecting channel, and protrudes from the connecting channel into the inner space.
9 . A container according to claim 4 wherein the sealing pin at its distal end has a shape that corresponds to the cross-sectional shape of the connecting channel, such that the connecting channel is closed by this distal end of the sealing pin in the area which protrudes in the direction of the mixing space.
10 . A container according to claim 1 , wherein the barrier means is a sealing membrane on the portion of the connecting tube which protrudes into the inner space, the sealing membrane sealing off the connecting tube and being openable for dispensing the multi-component mixture.
11 . A container for dispensing an adhesive in the form of a multi-component mixture, the container comprising a flexible wall defining an inner space having at least first and second chambers, each chamber accommodating one component of the multi-component mixture; a device to combine and mix the separated components in the inner space; a dispensing opening; a hollow connecting tube that extends from the dispensing opening into the inner space, the connecting tube providing a fluid connection between the inner space and the dispensing opening, one end of the connecting tube being in contact with one of the mixture components prior to mixing; and a barrier to prevent contamination of the connecting tube by the mixture component with which it is in contact, the barrier being removable for dispensing the mixed multi-component mixture.
12 . A container according to claim 11 , comprising a frangible membrane connected to the flexible wall and separating the first chamber from the second chamber.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
