Abstract

According to a first aspect, antiperspirant aerosol compositions are disclosed comprising antiperspirant active particulates, a propellant and at least 5% by weight of the entire antiperspirant aerosol composition of a silicone component, wherein (a) the antiperspirant active particulates are the only particulates in the antiperspirant aerosol composition; (b) the silicone component comprises one or more silicones and the or each silicone is a non-volatile silicone. According to a second aspect, packaged antiperspirant aerosol compositions according to the first aspect are disclosed.

. The antiperspirant aerosol compositions of claim 1 comprising from about 0.01 to about 10% by weight of the antiperspirant aerosol composition of active release agent.

. The antiperspirant aerosol composition of claim 1 comprising from about 5% to about 40% silicone component by weight of the antiperspirant aerosol composition.

. The antiperspirant aerosol composition of claim 1 comprising from about 5% to about 10% silicone component by weight of the antiperspirant aerosol composition.

. The antiperspirant aerosol composition of claim 1 comprising from about 15% to about 40% silicone component by weight of the antiperspirant aerosol composition.

. The antiperspirant aerosol composition of claim 1 comprising from about 25% to about 35% silicone component by weight of the antiperspirant aerosol composition.

. The antiperspirant aerosol composition of claim 1 wherein said nonvolatile silicone in the silicone component is selected from the group consisting of silicone gums, silicone waxes, silicone oils and mixtures thereof.

. The antiperspirant aerosol composition of claim 8 wherein said silicone oils are selected from those having a viscosity from about 0.005 Nsm −2 to about 1000 Nsm −2 measured at about 25° C.

. The antiperspirant aerosol composition of claim 8 wherein said silicone gums are selected from the group consisting of linear silicone gums having a molecular weight from about 140,000 to about 350,000; branched chain silicone gums having a molecular weight from about 140,000 to about 2,000,000 and mixtures thereof.
