Abstract
The present invention describes a system and method for easy, affordable, efficient, and convenient preparation and storage of fresh, high-quality homemade baby food. The system generally comprises a blender for processing fresh produce into baby food and multiple devices to store multiple portions of freshly produced baby food resulting from one use of the system. For example, one component of the system includes a storage cup having a freshness indicator and lid to immediately store the freshly made food in an organized and convenient manner. The method comprises steps of producing the baby food, transferring the food to an appropriate storage receptacle, adjusting an indicator on the storage receptacle to indicate the freshness level of the food, and immediately serving and covering the remaining receptacles to store the unused food.

1 . A method for enhanced preparation and storage of freshly produced food portions using a system for enhancing preparation and storage of fresh homemade baby food comprising:
a blender base, a blender container having a removable blade adapter, said removable blade adapter having a blade member, said blender container and said removable blade adapter are capable of operatively engaging with said blender base to thereby process food with said blade member when engaged, and
a food storage tray having at least one receptacle capable of receiving said processed food, and a storage tray cover adapted to cover said food storage tray,
and steps comprising the steps of:
processing food in said blender container;
transferring said processed food to said at least one cavity of said food storage tray; and
covering said food storage tray with said storage tray cover.
2 . A method for enhanced preparation and storage of freshly produced food portions using a system for enhancing preparation and storage of freshly homemade baby food comprising:
a blender base, a blender container having a removable blade adapter, said removable blade adapter having a blade member, said blender container and said removable blade adapter are capable of operatively engaging with said blender base to thereby process food with said blade member when engaged, and at least one storage cup capable of receiving said processed food, said storage cup having a removable lid and an indicator, said indicator comprising a rotatable element and an indicator window through which a reference indicium is visible,
and comprising the steps of:
processing food in said blender container;
transferring said processed food to said at least one storage cup;
covering said at least one storage cup with said at least one removable lid; and
adjusting said indicator to set said reference indicium, wherein said adjusting step can be performed before or after any of said processing, transferring, and covering steps.
3 . The method of claim 2 , said food is selected from the group consisting of a cup of cantaloupe, a cup of watermelon, a cup of pineapple, a cup of apricots, and a cup of kale, such that the method yields three storage cups of said food, each of said storage cups holding approximately a two-ounce serving of said food.
4 . The method of claim 2 , said food is two plums, such that the method yields three and one-half storage cups of said food, each of said storage cups holding approximately a two-ounce serving of said food.
5 . The method of claim 2 , said food is selected from the group consisting of an avocado, a banana, a cup of peas, a pear, twenty spears of asparagus, a carrot, a one-third of a head of cauliflower, and a cup of turnip, such that the method yields four storage cups of said food, each of said storage cups holding approximately a two-ounce serving of said food.
6 . The method of claim 2 , said food is selected from the group consisting of a peach and a cup of green beans, such that the method yields five storage cups of said food, each of said storage cups holding approximately a two-ounce serving of said food.
7 . The method of claim 2 , said food is selected from the group consisting of an apple, a one-third of a head of broccoli, and one-half of an eggplant, such that the method yields six storage cups of said food, each of said storage cups holding approximately a two-ounce serving of said food.
8 . The method of claim 2 , said food is a white potato, such that the method yields eight storage cups of said food, each of said storage cups holding approximately a two-ounce serving of said food.
9 . The method of claim 2 , said food is selected from the group consisting of a zucchini, a squash, a sweet potato, a cup of milled oatmeal cereal, and a cup of milled millet cereal, such that the method yields ten storage cups of said food, each of said storage cups holding approximately a two-ounce serving of said food.
10 . The method of claim 2 , said food is one cup of brown rice cereal, such that the method yields sixteen storage cups of said food, each of said storage cups holding approximately a two-ounce serving of said food.
