Abstract

Methods and corresponding system are provided herewith that, in at least one embodiment, include the act or acts of determining a first instance in which a first request is received by an exchange; determining a second instance in which a second request is received by the exchange, in which the second request defines a request to cancel the first request; determining a third instance in which a third request is received by the exchange, in which the third request corresponds to the first request; calculating a first difference between the second instance and the third instances; storing the first difference to a data storage, in which the data storage comprises a plurality of differences; and analyzing the plurality of differences to generate comparative information.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 32 . (canceled)

33 . A method for correcting network delays in a trading system, in which the method comprises:
receiving from an user on a remote device, via a processor, an indication that a request to cancel a previously placed bid or offer was unsuccessful, in which the previously placed bid or offer has already been matched, in which the remote device and the processor are in electronic communication over a network; computing, via the processor, a lag time between when the request to cancel was submitted by the user and when the request to cancel was received by the trading system; adjusting, via the processor, at least one trading algorithm based at least in part on the lag time, in which the adjusted at least one trading algorithm improve a response time to any future requests to cancel.

34 . The method of claim 33 further comprising:
determining that the lag time exceeds a threshold amount; and
transmitting an indication of a network transmission error.

35 . The method of claim 34 , in which the threshold amount is a length of time.

36 . The method of claim 33 further comprising:
storing the lag time with a plurality of lag times that were computed from previous transactions on the trading system.

37 . The method of claim 36 further comprising:
computing a trend based on the lag time and the plurality of lag times.

38 . The method of claim 37 , in which computing the trend further comprises:
computing an average of the plurality of lag times over a period of time.

39 . The method of claim 38 further comprising:
transmitting the average of the plurality of lag times over the period of time to the user.

40 . The method of claim 38 further comprising:
computing that the average of the plurality of lag times exceeds a first threshold amount; and
transmitting an indication of a network transmission error.

41 . The method of claim 38 further comprising:
computing that the average of the plurality of lag times exceeds a first threshold amount; and
adjusting, via the processor, at least one trading algorithm based at least in part on the average of the plurality of lag times.
