Abstract
The present disclosure relates to a method for coating a surface of a titanium implant with low crystalline hydroxyapatite having network- or island-like morphology and to an implant coated by such method.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A titanium or titanium alloy implant coated with hydroxyapatite thin film having a double surface with co-exposure of a network- or island-like coating layer and the implant surface.
2 . The implant according to claim 1 , wherein the hydroxyapatite has bioabsorbability.
3 . The implant according to claim 1 wherein the thin film of hydroxyapatite has a thickness of 10 nm or less.
4 . A titanium or titanium alloy implant coated with hydroxyapatite in form of a thin film prepared by:
pretreating a surface of a titanium or titanium alloy implant; adding each of a phosphate ion solution and a calcium ion solution to the pretreated titanium or titanium alloy implant; and dipping and storing the titanium or titanium alloy implant in the calcium phosphate solution for 1 hour or more.
5 . A coated implant comprising:
a titanium or titanium alloy implant having a surface; and a thin film coating of nonstoichiometric hydroxyapatite on at least a portion of the surface.
6 . The coated implant of claim 5 wherein the nonstoichiometric hydroxyapatite is represented by: Ca 10-x (HPO 4 ) x (PO 4 ) 6-x (OH) 2-x .nH 2 O, wherein x=0 to 1, n=0 to 2.
7 . The coated implant of claim 5 wherein the thin film coating is 10 nm or less.
8 . The coated implant of claim 5 wherein the thin film coating has a network or island-like morphology.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
