Claims
Abstract
The present invention relates to a hand held device for producing large volumes of smoke from a smoke producing solution. The design allows for repeated, fast, and lengthy heating of the heating chamber, and thus is an improvement over prior devices which can only be utilized in short bursts.

1 . An aerosol device capable of generating smoke comprising:
a) a base portion for handling the device during use; b) a heating chamber for vaporizing a smoke producing solution having an inlet side and a smoke outlet side, the chamber comprising a fuel ignition chamber, one or more combustion gas exit pipe vents on the inlet side or exterior side for the release of combustion gas from the heating chamber, the chamber otherwise sealed for the release of the combustion gas and connected to the base portion; c) a smoke producing solution pressurized by a nitrogen propellant for the solution, operatively connected to the base and capable of delivering the smoke producing solution to coiled tubing positioned within the heating chamber and around the ignition chamber wherein the coil is operatively connected to an exit nozzle which is capable of dispersing the smoke producing solution once it is vaporized in the heating chamber; and d) a fuel operatively connected to the base and operatively connected to the heating chamber for delivery of the fuel to the ignition chamber for ignition.
2 . The device according to claim 1 which further comprises a chemical spray cannon attached to the base.
3 . The device according to claim 2 wherein the chemical spray is selected from the group comprising pepper spray.
4 . The device according to claim 2 wherein there is a pressure relief valve.
5 . The device according to claim 4 wherein the pressure relief valve releases pressure at about 2,000 psi or greater.
6 . The device according to claim 1 wherein the one or more of the fuel gas, the nitrogen propellant and the smoke producing liquid are in canisters mounted directly to the base.
7 . The device according to claim 1 wherein one or more of the fuel gas, the nitrogen propellant and the smoke producing liquid are in remote canisters from the base.
8 . The device according to claim 1 wherein the one or more remote canisters are mounted on a back pack.
9 . The device according to claim 1 wherein the nitrogen propellant canister is covered with a rubberized material.
10 . The device according to claim 1 wherein the backpack has a ballistic housing.
11 . The device according to claim 1 wherein the ballistic housing comprises at least one of Kap plates, Nomex and Kevlar.
12 . The device according to claim 1 wherein at least one of the nitrogen propellant, the smoke producing liquid and the gas fuel are fitted with a pressure release valve.
13 . The device according to claim 12 wherein the pressure release valve is for a pressure of at least about 2,000 psi.
14 . The device according to claim 1 which further comprises at least one of a temperature controller and a wireless remote control.
15 . The device according to claim 14 where the temperature controller cycles between about 1,300 and 1,500 Fahrenheit.
16 . The device according to claim 1 wherein at least two gas exit pipes are in fluid communication with one another.
17 . The device according to claim 1 wherein the device is mounted on a robot, vehicle or stationary support.
18 . The device according to claim 1 wherein the apparatus comprises a spring loaded nozzle.
19 . The device according to claim 1 wherein the propane can be turned off such that the device continues to operate until the heating chamber cools.
20 . The device according to claim 1 wherein the device is made from a ballistic material.
21 . A valve stem for use in high pressure release valve comprising a stem shaft having a threaded end and a polymer valve stem gasket threaded onto the threaded end with a commercial grade plastic bonding adhesive agent.
22 . The valve stem according to claim 21 wherein the gasket further comprises glue or an adhesive to hold the gasket on the threaded end.
