Abstract

Provided herein are compositions, kits, and methods for the identification of depressive disorders. In particular, provided herein are compositions, kits, and methods for the detection or diagnosis of major depressive disorder.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
We claim:

1 . A method comprising detecting, in a sample obtained from a subject, the levels of expression products for a panel of multiple biomarkers, wherein the panel of multiple biomarkers comprises two or more of ADCY3, DGKA, FAM46A, IGSF4A/CADM1, KIAA1539, MARCKS, PSME1, RAPH1, and TLR7.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said subject comprises a human subject.

         3 . (canceled)

4 . The method of claim 2 , wherein said subject is an adult.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein determining the levels of gene expression comprises detecting the amount of mRNA.

6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein said detecting the amount of mRNA comprises exposing said sample to nucleic acid probes complementary to said mRNA.

7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein said nucleic acid probes are covalently linked to a solid surface.

8 . The method of claim 6 , wherein said nucleic acid probes are free in solution.

9 . The method of claim 5 , wherein said detecting the amount of mRNA in said sample comprises use of a technique selected from the group consisting of microarray analysis, reverse transcriptase PCR, quantitative PCR, and hybridization analysis.

10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said determining the levels of gene expression comprises detecting the amount of expressed protein.

11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein detecting the amount of expressed protein comprises contacting the sample with antibodies.

12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein said antibodies are covalently linked to a solid surface.

13 . The method of claim 11 , wherein said antibodies are free in solution.

         14 . (canceled)

15 . A kit or panel comprising reagents for detecting two or more genes selected from ADCY3, DGKA, FAM46A, IGSF4A/CADM1, KIAA1539, MARCKS, PSME1, RAPH1, and TLR7, or proteins encoded thereby.

16 . The kit or panel of claim 15 , comprising reagents for the detection of RAPH1.

17 . The kit or panel of claim 15 , comprising reagents for the detection of KIAA1539.

18 . A kit or panel comprising reagents for detecting KIAA1539 and RAPH1, or proteins encoded thereby.

         19 - 24 . (canceled)
