Adjustable Storage Container

Abstract

An adjustable storage container is disclosed. In a particular embodiment, the container includes a frame having a base wall, a first sidewall, a second sidewall, a front wall, and a rear wall, where an interior space is defined by the walls. The container also includes a half wall extending partially from the front wall towards the rear wall. Longitudinal slots are disposed on the frame and are configured to engage a respective longitudinal edge of a removable divider wall to selectively divide the interior space. In addition, a free edge of the half wall includes a hub of longitudinal slots where each longitudinal slot of the hub is facing in a different direction and configured to receive a respective longitudinal edge of the removable divider wall. Additional longitudinal slots and divider walls can be used to divide the interior space as desired to accommodate various sized objects.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . An adjustable storage container, the container comprising:
 a frame having a base wall, a first sidewall, a second sidewall, a front wall, and a rear wall, wherein an interior space is defined by the walls;   a half wall extending partially from the front wall towards the rear wall;   a first longitudinal slot disposed on the frame, the half wall, or any combination thereof; and   a first divider wall to removably engage the first longitudinal slot to divide the interior space.   
     
     
         2 . The adjustable storage container of  claim 1 , further comprising an interior wall extending between the half wall and the second sidewall, the interior wall configured generally parallel to the front wall. 
     
     
         3 . The adjustable storage container of  claim 2 , a free edge of the half wall further comprising a hub of longitudinal slots each longitudinal slot of the hub facing in a different direction. 
     
     
         4 . The adjustable storage container of  claim 3 , further comprising a plurality of flanges disposed along a width of the front wall, wherein the plurality of flanges each extend outwardly away from the front wall. 
     
     
         5 . The adjustable storage container of  claim 4 , further comprising a plurality of apertures disposed through the first divider wall. 
     
     
         6 . The adjustable storage container of  claim 5 , further comprising a plug configured to slide into a selected aperture of the plurality of apertures of the first divider wall, wherein the plug secures contents of the container. 
     
     
         7 . The adjustable storage container of  claim 6 , further comprising a plurality of access apertures disposed in the base wall. 
     
     
         8 . The adjustable storage container of  claim 7 , further comprising a pair of keyhole apertures disposed in the rear wall proximate a top edge of the rear wall. 
     
     
         9 . The adjustable storage container of  claim 8 , further comprising hemispherical extrusions disposed on an outer surface of the rear wall proximate a bottom edge of the rear wall. 
     
     
         10 . The adjustable storage container of  claim 9 , the divider wall further comprising a lip disposed proximate a top edge of the divider wall, the lip configured to be grasped by a user to assist in inserting and removing the divider wall. 
     
     
         11 . The adjustable storage container of  claim 10 , wherein the longitudinal slots are U-shaped. 
     
     
         12 . The adjustable storage container of  claim 11 , wherein a height of the back wall is greater than a height of the front wall. 
     
     
         13 . The adjustable storage container of  claim 12 , the first divider wall sized to slide between an opening of the half wall and the rear wall, wherein longitudinal edges of the first divider wall are seated in the respective longitudinal slots. 
     
     
         14 . The adjustable storage container of  claim 13 , further comprising a second divider wall sized to slide between an opening of the half wall and the first sidewall, wherein longitudinal edges of the second divider wall are seated in the respective longitudinal slots. 
     
     
         15 . The adjustable storage container of  claim 14 , further comprising a third divider wall sized to slide between an opening of the half wall and the second sidewall, wherein longitudinal edges of the third divider wall are seated in the respective longitudinal slots. 
     
     
         16 . The adjustable storage container of  claim 15 , further comprising a fourth divider wall sized to slide between an opening of the half wall and the interior wall and the front wall, wherein longitudinal edges of the fourth divider wall are seated in the respective longitudinal slots. 
     
     
         17 . An adjustable storage container, the container comprising:
 a frame having a base wall, a first sidewall, a second sidewall, a front wall, and a rear wall, wherein an interior space is defined by the walls;   a first longitudinal slot disposed on the frame; and   a first divider wall to removably engage the first longitudinal slot to divide the interior space.   
     
     
         18 . The adjustable storage container of  claim 17 , further comprising:
 a half wall extending partially from the front wall towards the rear wall; and   a hub of longitudinal slots disposed on a free edge of the half wall, wherein each longitudinal slot of the hub is facing in a different direction.   
     
     
         19 . The adjustable storage container of  claim 18 , further comprising:
 a plurality of apertures disposed through the first divider wall; and   a plug configured to slide into a selected aperture of the plurality of apertures of the first divider wall, wherein the plug secures contents of the container.   
     
     
         20 . An adjustable storage container, the container comprising:
 a frame having a base wall, a first sidewall, a second sidewall, a front wall, and a rear wall, wherein an interior space is defined by the walls;   a first longitudinal slot disposed on an interior surface of the frame;   a first divider wall to removably engage the first longitudinal slot to divide the interior space;   a plurality of apertures disposed through the first divider wall; and   a plug configured to slide into a selected aperture of the plurality of apertures of the first divider wall, wherein the plug secures contents of the container.
