Abstract

An apparatus includes a memory to store subscription data for access to a network, the subscription data including at least terms and conditions information for the network; circuitry linked to the memory; and a connection component for execution on the circuitry to identify an access point connected to the network and automatically forward at least a portion of the subscription data to the identified access point in an association message. Other embodiments are disclosed and claimed.

Claims

a memory to store subscription data for access to a network, the subscription data including at least terms and conditions information for the network; circuitry linked to the memory; and a connection component for execution on the circuitry to identify an access point connected to the network and automatically forward at least a portion of the subscription data to the identified access point in an association message.

27 . The apparatus of claim 26 , comprising a radio component linked to the circuitry to receive a radio beacon that provides identifier information for the identified access point.

28 . The apparatus of claim 26 the connection component for execution on the circuitry to retrieve terms and conditions data and/or user credentials for access to the network from the memory for forwarding in the association message.

29 . The apparatus of claim 26 , the connection component for execution on the circuitry to enable automatic association with one or more free public hotspots connected to the network using the terms and conditions data and/or user credentials in response to user input.

30 . The apparatus of claim 29 , the connection component for execution on the circuitry to generate a query for enabling automatic association.

31 . The apparatus of claim 26 , the connection component for execution on the circuitry to automatically schedule for transmission the stored subscription data for a specific network when communications are established with the access point.

32 . The apparatus of claim 26 , the connection component for execution on the circuitry to perform secure authentication automatically with the network using the stored subscription data.

33 . The apparatus of claim 26 , the connection component for execution on the circuitry to perform automatic subscription remediation of subscription data for access to the network when a notification message for remediation is received.

34 . The apparatus of claim 33 , the connection for execution on the circuitry to forward username and password information to authenticate to the network for automatically updating the subscription data.

35 . The apparatus of claim 33 , the connection component for execution on the circuitry to delete from the memory a first set of terms and conditions information and/or a first set of user credentials, and store a second set of terms and conditions information and/or a second set of user credentials received during the automatic update of subscription data.

36 . The apparatus of claim 26 , the connection component for execution on the circuitry to send instructions for launching a web browser to display provider information associated with the identified access point.

37 . The apparatus of claim 26 , comprising a memory controller to direct read and write operations to the memory, an interface to exchange data with the identified access point and a display to present the subscription data.

38 . A computer implemented method to manage network access, comprising:
identifying an access point connected to a network that provides subscription data for access to the network, the subscription data including at least terms and conditions information for the network; and automatically forwarding in an association message at least a portion of the subscription data for transmission to the access point.

39 . The computer implemented method of claim 38 , comprising retrieving terms and conditions data or user credentials for access to the network from the memory for forwarding in the association message.

40 . The computer implemented method of claim 38 , comprising enabling automatic association with one or more free public hotspots connected to the network using the terms and conditions data or user credentials in response to user input.

41 . The computer implemented method of claim 38 , comprising automatically scheduling for transmission the stored subscription data for a specific network when communications are established with the identified access point.

42 . The computer implemented method of claim 38 , comprising performing automatic subscription remediation of subscription data for access to the network when a notification message for remediation is received.

43 . The computer implemented method of claim 38 , comprising sending instructions for launching a web browser to display provider information associated with the identified access point.

44 . At least one machine-readable storage medium comprising instructions that when executed by a computing device, cause the computing device to:
identify an access point connected to a network that provides subscription data for access to the network, the subscription data including at least terms and conditions information for the network; and automatically forward in an association message at least a portion of the subscription data for transmission to the access point.

45 . The at least one machine-readable storage medium of claim 44 , comprising instructions that when executed by a computing device, cause the computing device to retrieve terms and conditions data or user credentials for access to the network from the memory for forwarding in the association message.

46 . The at least one machine-readable storage medium of claim 44 , comprising instructions that when executed by a computing device, cause the computing device to enable automatic association with one or more free public hotspots connected to the network using the terms and conditions data or user credentials in response to user input.

47 . The at least one machine-readable storage medium of claim 44 , comprising instructions that when executed by a computing device, cause the computing device to automatically schedule for transmission the stored subscription data for a specific network when communications are established with the identified access point.

48 . The at least one machine-readable storage medium of claim 44 , comprising instructions that when executed by a computing device, cause the computing device to perform automatic subscription remediation of subscription data for access to the network when a notification message for remediation is received.
