Joint for modular displays

Abstract

A joint ( 1 ) for modular displays comprising two or more arms ( 3, 5, 7 ), wherein the joint ( 1 ) comprises a metal core ( 9 ) partially encased by a non-conductive cover means ( 11 ), wherein the metal core ( 9 ) is exposed through the cover means ( 11 ) at one or more contact points ( 13 ).

1 . A joint for modular displays comprising two or more arms, wherein the joint comprises a metal core partially encased by a non-conductive cover means, wherein the metal core is exposed through the cover means at one or more contact points. 
     
     
         2 . A joint for modular displays according to  claim 1  wherein the joint further comprises an earthing means providing an electrical connection between the or each contact point and earth. 
     
     
         3 . A joint for modular displays according to  claim 1  wherein each arm of the joint comprises one or more contact points. 
     
     
         4 . A joint for modular displays according to  claim 3  wherein each arm of the joint comprises multiple contact points. 
     
     
         5 . A joint for modular displays according to  claim 3  wherein the metal core is exposed through apertures in the cover means at the one or more contact points. 
     
     
         6 . A joint for modular displays according to  claim 1  wherein each arm is shaped to comprise at least one protrusion, wherein the shape of the arm and the or each protrusion are configured to mate with a tubular support ember. 
     
     
         7 . A joint for modular displays according to  claim 6  wherein the or each protrusion of the or each a is exposed through the non-conductive cover means. 
     
     
         8 . A joint for modular displays according to  claim 1  wherein each arm comprises a cross-section which is substantially square, or optionally each arm comprises a cross-section which is substantially rectangular. 
     
     
         9 . A modular platform for supporting a display comprising,
 Two or more joints, each joining comprising two or more arms, wherein the joint comprises a metal core partially encased by a non-conductive cover means and the metal core is exposed through the cover means at one or more contact points;   at least one tubular support member configured to receive one or more arms from the one or more joints;   characterized in that:
 the modular platform comprises an electrical connection means to earth. 
   
     
     
         10 . A modular platform according to  claim 9  comprising a single electrical connection means to earth. 
     
     
         11 . A modular platform according to  claim 9  wherein the or each electrical connections means to earth comprises a grounding rod. 
     
     
         12 . A modular platform according to  claim 11  wherein the grounding rod comprises a non-corrosive material. 
     
     
         13 . A modular platform according to  claim 9  wherein the display comprises one or more aquatics tanks.
