Head band with pierced earrings

Abstract

A headband extending laterally from one side of the head to the other side of the head and designed to maintain a wearer's hair in position, the headband having secured at its two termini, a decorative pierced earring, the pierced earring cooperative with the pierced lobe of the ear, allowing the earring to be affixed through the ear and to the terminus of the headband, thus maintaining the headband in position on the user's head.

I claim: 
     
         1 . Headwear to keep hair contained and which incorporates a pierced earring to maintain the headwear in position on the head, the headwear comprising:
 a headband extending from one lateral side of the head to the opposing lateral side of said head across the top of said head, terminating proximate the lobe of the ear on the respective lateral sides of said head;   a pierced earring having a post for penetrating the pierced ear, said post further penetrating said headband, proximate its respective termini, said post locked in position with a locking member with said pierced earring maintaining said headband in position on said head and consequently maintaining the wearer's hair in position.   
     
     
         2 . The headwear in accordance with  claim 1  wherein said pierced earring and said post and said locking member are independent of said headband and are secured to said headband proximate said respective termini of said headband. 
     
     
         3 . The headwear in accordance with  claim 1  wherein said headband extends beyond the lobe of the ear on each lateral side of said head, said headband having affixed thereto a post for positioning through said pierced earlobe from the rear and forming a loop with said termini of said headband, and a locking member, said loop hanging downwardly from said lobe of said ear. 
     
     
         4 . The headwear in accordance with  claim 1  wherein said headband is formed from cloth, fabric, metal, plastic, or chain link. 
     
     
         5 . The headwear in accordance with  claim 1  wherein said headband is cooperative with a post formed on said headband, said post extending from the rear of the earlobe through said pierced earlobe and terminating with a decorative earring on the front of the earlobe, together with an extended dangling portion of said headband.
