Abstract

A system and method for editing multimedia content. A server transmits multimedia content to a plurality of electronic devices. Each of the plurality of electronic devices enables a user to perform at least one action in relation to the multimedia content. A voting engine gathers information concerning the actions performed by users in relation to the multimedia content transmitted to the electronic devices. In response to the information gathered by the voting engine, the multimedia content is modified based upon predefined criteria. The modified multimedia content is subsequently provided to later users.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . An apparatus for altering an appearance of a multimedia content, the apparatus comprising:
a processor; a memory coupled to the processor, the processor configured to:
 receive actions, from at least one other device, related to actions of each of the at least one device while viewing the multimedia content;
determine an editing action based on the received actions of the at least one other device; and
alter the multimedia content based on the determined editing action.

2 . The apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to receive the multimedia content from a recording device.

3 . The apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein the processor is further configured to transmit the received multimedia content to the at least one other device.

4 . The apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to transmit the received multimedia content to the at least one other device.

5 . The apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to transmit the altered multimedia content to the at least one other device.

6 . The apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the editing action is one or more of:
changing a particular portion of the multimedia content to be shown in slow motion, accelerating the particular portion of the multimedia content, adjusting a volume of the particular portion, skipping a portion of the multimedia content, panning within the multimedia content.

7 . A method for altering an appearance of a multimedia content, the method comprising:
receiving actions, from at least one other device, related to actions of each of the at least one device while viewing the multimedia content; determining an editing action based on the received actions of the at least one other device; and altering the multimedia content based on the determined editing action.

8 . The method according to claim 7 , further comprising receiving the multimedia content from a recording device.

9 . The method according to claim 8 , further comprising transmitting the received multimedia content to the at least one other device.

10 . The method according to claim 7 , further comprising transmitting the received multimedia content to the at least one other device.

11 . The method according to claim 7 , further comprising transmitting the altered multimedia content to the at least one other device.

12 . The method according to claim 7 , wherein the editing action is one or more of:
changing a particular portion of the multimedia content to be shown in slow motion, accelerating the particular portion of the multimedia content, adjusting a volume of the particular portion, skipping a portion of the multimedia content, panning within the multimedia content.

13 . An computer program product for altering an appearance of a multimedia content, the computer program product comprising:
computer code for receiving actions, from at least one other device, related to actions of each of the at least one device while viewing the multimedia content; computer code for determining an editing action based on the received actions of the at least one other device; and computer code for altering the multimedia content based on the determined editing action.

14 . The computer program according to claim 13 , further comprising computer code for receiving the multimedia content from a recording device.

15 . The computer program according to claim 14 , further comprising computer code for transmitting the received multimedia content to the at least one other device.

16 . The computer program according to claim 13 , further comprising computer code for transmitting the received multimedia content to the at least one other device.

17 . The computer program according to claim 13 , further comprising computer code for transmitting the altered multimedia content to the at least one other device.

18 . The computer program according to claim 13 , wherein the editing action is one or more of:
changing a particular portion of the multimedia content to be shown in slow motion, accelerating the particular portion of the multimedia content, adjusting a volume of the particular portion, skipping a portion of the multimedia content, panning within the multimedia content.
