Abstract

A mortar composition, in particular for preparing a viscoelastic body or structure, includes: a) 1-20 wt.-% of a hydraulic binder, b) 30-80 wt.-% of aggregates, c) 5-75 wt.-% of a polymer, and d) 0.5-40 wt.-% of a layered material.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . Mortar composition comprising:
 a) 1-20 wt.-% of a hydraulic binder, b) 30-80 wt.-% of aggregates, c) 5-75 wt.-% of a polymer, and d) 0.5-40 wt.-% of a layered material.

2 . Mortar composition according to claim 1 , wherein the polymer is a water soluble or water redispersible polymer.

3 . Mortar composition according to claim 1 , wherein the polymer is a homopolymer or copolymer based on one or more monomers selected from vinyl acetate, vinyl alcohol, acrylic acid, acrylate, methacrylic acid, methacrylate and ethylene.

4 . Mortar composition according to claim 1 , wherein the layered material is selected from clay and/or mica.

5 . Mortar composition according to claim 1 , wherein the mortar composition additionally comprises a porous filler, whereby the porous filler comprises volcanic rock.

6 . Mortar composition according to claim 1 , wherein the binder comprises alumina cement.

7 . Mortar composition according to claim 1 , wherein the aggregate is selected from sand, quartz, and/or rubber.

8 . Mortar composition according to claim 1 , comprising:
 a) 2-15 wt.-%, of hydraulic binder, whereby the hydraulic binder comprises alumina cement, b) 40-70 wt.-%, of aggregates selected from sand and/or quartz, c) 15-40 wt.-%, of polymer, whereby the polymer the polymer is selected from polyacrylate, poly(vinyl acetate), poly(vinyl alcohol), ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer and ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer or mixtures thereof, d) 2-10 wt.-%, of layered material selected from clay and/or mica.

9 . A shaped body comprising a mortar composition according to claim 1 after hardening with water.

10 . A shaped body according to claim 9 , whereby the shaped body is a flat layer.

11 . A shaped body according to claim 9 , wherein a loss factor tan δ according to standard ISO 6721 at 0° C. and 300 Hz is at least 0.05.

12 . A structure comprising a shaped body according to claim 9 and a support element and/or cover element being attached to the shaped body.

13 . A structure according to claim 12 , whereby the shaped body is arranged between the support element and the cover element, whereby the support element is a metal layer, and the cover element is formed as flat layer.

14 . Method for the production of a structure according to claim 12 , whereby a mortar composition comprising:
 a) 1-20 wt.-% of a hydraulic binder, b) 30-80 wt.-% of aggregates, c) 5-75 wt.-% of a polymer, and d) 0.5-40 wt.-% of a layered material is mixed with water, applied on a support structure and covered with a covering layer.

15 . A mortar composition according to claim 1 is for acoustic damping of at least one of a ship, an offshore installation and/or a building.

16 . A mortar composition according to claim 15 , whereby the acoustic properties or damping of the mortar composition is controlled by the polymer.

17 . The shape body according to claim 9 is for acoustic damping of at least one of a ship, an offshore installation and/or a building.

18 . The shape body according to claim 17 , whereby the acoustic properties or damping of the mortar composition and/or the shape body is controlled by the polymer.
