Abstract

The SBFM (solar box) design is an instrument that boils water through the use of glass lenses. The Glass lenses (3 inch 3× magnification) when aligned with the Sun condenses the light waves and focuses them into sealed chambers with glass on one side (the side the light waves come in on). The Copper chambers are sealed and connected together with small brass tubing leaving one opening for water to be added & one opening from where the steam pressure is released. One lens to one copper cup brings the cup of water to a boil in less than a minute. The measurement between the lens and the water, or, the point on the magnified or condensed light waves that is submerged in water to create steam, does not change depending on what part of the earth one is using the SBFM (Solar Box). This means that each SBFM (Solar Box) may be manufactured to the same specifications & used at any point on the earth using one lens per copper cup.
