Abstract

An information processing apparatus including a search unit configured to access a server storing a plurality of contents therein, and search for a desired content from among the plurality of contents, a recognition unit configured to recognize a reproduction apparatus which is capable of reproducing a content stored in the server, an instruction unit configured to instruct the reproduction apparatus to reproduce the content having been searched for by the search unit, and an acquisition unit configured to acquire reproduction information relating to the content having been reproduced by the reproduction apparatus.

10 . An information processing apparatus, comprising:
a data interface configured to connect to at least one reproduction apparatus and a server storing a plurality of contents therein; and a processor configured to:
instruct, via the data interface, a first reproduction apparatus to reproduce a content stored in the server,
acquire reproduction information from the server relating to the content, the reproduction information including a reproduction start point of the content where the reproduction of the content has been interrupted at the first reproduction apparatus, and
instruct, via the data interface, a second reproduction apparatus to reproduce the content from the reproduction start point on the basis of the reproduction information,
wherein the reproduction start point is based, at least in part, on a method of content delivery.

11 . The information processing apparatus according to claim 10 , wherein the server is configured to, responsive to receiving a request from the second reproduction apparatus for reproduction of the content having been reproduced by the first reproduction apparatus, deliver the content to the second reproduction apparatus from the reproduction start point of the content on the basis of the reproduction start information.

12 . The information processing apparatus according to claim 10 , wherein the server is configured to, responsive to receiving a request for reproduction of the content having been reproduced by the first reproduction apparatus, transmit the reproduction start information in addition to the content.

13 . The information processing apparatus according to claim 10 , wherein the first reproduction apparatus is configured to request the server to reproduce the content responsive to receiving an instruction from the second reproduction apparatus.

14 . The information processing apparatus according to claim 10 , wherein the server is configured to store the same content in different file sizes and, responsive to receiving a request from the second reproduction apparatus for reproduction of the selected content having been reproduced by the first reproduction apparatus, deliver a selected content having a file size appropriate to a performance and a connection condition of the first reproduction apparatus and the second reproduction apparatus, respectively.

         15 . A reproduction apparatus, comprising:
a data interface configured to connect to an information processing apparatus and a server storing a plurality of contents therein; and a processor configured to:
control a reproduction of a content stored in the server in response to receiving, via the data interface, an instruction from the information processing apparatus; and
transmit reproduction information relating to the content to the server,
wherein the reproduction information includes a reproduction start point of the content where the reproduction of the content has been interrupted at the reproduction apparatus, and
wherein the reproduction start point is based, at least in part, on a method of content delivery.

16 . The reproduction apparatus according to claim 15 , wherein the reproduction apparatus is configured to receive an instruction from the information processing apparatus, and request the server to reproduce the content responsive to receiving the instruction.

         17 . A reproduction apparatus, comprising:
a data interface configured to connect to an information processing apparatus and a server storing a plurality of contents therein; and a processor configured to control reproduction of a content stored in the server in response to receiving, via the data interface, an instruction from the information processing apparatus based on reproduction information relating to the content from the server,
wherein the reproduction information includes a reproduction start point of the content where the reproduction of the content has been interrupted at another reproduction apparatus, and
the reproduction start point is based, at least in part, on a method of content delivery.

18 . The reproduction apparatus according to claim 17 , wherein the reproduction apparatus is configured to send a request for reproduction of the content having been reproduced by the information processing apparatus, and
receive, from the server, the content having been reproduced by the information processing apparatus, wherein the content is received from the reproduction start point on the basis of the reproduction start information.

19 . The reproduction apparatus according to claim 17 , wherein the reproduction apparatus is configured to send a request to the server for reproduction of the selected content having been reproduced by the information processing apparatus, and
receive a selected content having a file size appropriate to a performance and a connection condition of the reproduction apparatus and the information processing apparatus, respectively.
