Abstract

The invention relates to methods for treating depression, anxiety, and other related diseases by administering a peptide NMDAR partial agonist.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method for treating dysthymic disorder in a patient in need thereof, comprising administering to said patient a pharmaceutically acceptable composition comprising:
 a compound represented by:   
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
         
           or pharmaceutically acceptable salts, homologs, or hydrates thereof; and 
         
         an excipient. 
       
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , comprising administering the composition every week or every two weeks to said patient. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the composition comprises a 1 mg/kg to about 10 mg/kg dose of the compound. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 3 , wherein administration of a single dose is effective for up to 4 days. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising administering another antidepressant drug. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 2 , further comprising administering another antidepressant drug.
