Split groin undergarment

Abstract

A split groin undergarment configured to create a gap when a user squats, assumes a wide stance, or sits with legs wide apart. Two separable portions each comprise a portion of the garment, each side being open between the groin and the waistband. One side is disposed through the other such that the gussets of each overlap during normal wear. Garment extends down some length of wearer's thighs, creating a cross pull force to separate the gussets. Gap can extend from any point in front to any point in back, depending on width of stance assumed. Gap can be as wide or narrow as user wishes, depending on width of stance assumed. Once gap is no longer necessary, user resumes normal activity and gap closes without the use of fasteners, hooks, a hook and loop fabric, flaps, weights, etc. When closed, gussets overlap to form a completely enveloping undergarment.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . An undergarment comprising:
 a waistband with a front portion and a rear portion;   a first leg portion coupled with the waistband, the first leg portion further comprising:
 a tubular section to extend at least part way onto the thigh area of the wearer; 
 a gusset; and 
 an opening beginning at the front portion of the waistband, extending past the gusset, and ending at the rear portion of the waistband; 
   a second leg portion coupled with the waistband, the second leg portion further comprising:
 a tubular section to extend at least part way onto the thigh area of the wearer; 
 a gusset; and 
 an opening beginning at the front portion of the waistband, extending past the gusset, and ending at the rear portion of the waistband; 
   wherein the first leg portion is disposed through the open area of the second leg portion such that the leg portions separate to create an open area between the leg portions in response to a wearer crouching; and   wherein the leg portions overlap to form a closed garment in response to a wearer standing.   
     
     
         2 . An undergarment comprising:
 a waistband with a front portion and a rear portion;   a first leg portion coupled with the waistband, the first leg portion further comprising:
 an abdomen piece coupled with the front portion of the waistband; 
 a tubular section, the tubular section extending at least part way onto the thigh area of the wearer; 
 a first gusset; 
 a rear portion coupled with the rear portion of the waistband; and 
 an opening beginning at the front portion of the waistband, extending across the abdomen portion, past the gusset, across the rear portion, and ending at the rear portion of the waistband; 
   a second leg portion coupled with the waistband, the second leg portion further comprising:
 an abdomen piece coupled with the front portion of the waistband; 
 a tubular section, the tubular section extending at least part way onto the thigh area of the wearer; 
 a second gusset; 
 a rear portion coupled with the rear portion of the waistband; and 
 an opening beginning at the front portion of the waistband, extending across the abdomen portion, past the gusset, across the rear portion, and ending at the rear portion of the waistband; 
   wherein the first leg portion is disposed through the open area of the second leg portion such that the abdomen and rear portions of each leg portions overlap when in regular use; and   wherein the tubular sections are capable of exerting a cross pull force on the abdomen and rear portions, separating the first gusset from the second gusset to create a gap.   
     
     
         3 . An undergarment comprising:
 a first leg portion coupled with the waistband, the first leg portion further comprising:
 a tubular section to extend at least part way down the thigh area of the wearer; 
 a first gusset; and 
 an opening beginning at the front portion of the waistband, past the gusset, and ending at the rear portion of the waistband; 
   a second leg portion coupled with the waistband, the second leg portion further comprising:
 a tubular section to extend at least part way down the thigh area of the wearer; 
 a second gusset; and 
 an opening beginning at the front portion of the waistband, past the gusset, and ending at the rear portion of the waistband; 
   wherein the first leg portion is disposed through the open area of the second leg portion such that the leg portions are separable to create an open area between the leg portions; and   wherein the leg portions overlap to form a closed garment without the use of fasteners.
