Abstract

A battery module to accurately position a barrier between unit batteries and improve constructability of a battery module, including at least two unit batteries, and at least one barrier interposed between the unit batteries. The barrier includes a pair of panels facing each other and having protrusions on a surface of each panel that faces the other panel, at least one jointing hole formed in each panel, and a locking pin inserted into the jointing hole to combine the pair of panels with each other.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A battery module comprising:
at least two unit batteries; and at least one barrier interposed between the unit batteries, wherein the barrier includes a pair of panels facing each other and having protrusions on a surface of each panel that faces the other panel, at least one jointing hole formed in each panel, and a locking pin inserted into the jointing hole to combine the pair of panels with each other; and wherein a length of the locking pin corresponds to a thickness of the barrier.

         2 . A battery module, comprising:
at least two unit batteries, each of which includes a guide recess; and at least one barrier interposed between the unit batteries, the barrier having a pair of panels facing each other, protrusions on a surface of each panel that faces the other panel, and a guide formed on each panel and inserted into the guide recesses.

3 . The battery module according to claim 2 , wherein the guide is formed on a surface opposite to a surface where the protrusions are formed.

4 . The battery module according to claim 3 , wherein the guide is forcibly inserted into the guide recesses.

5 . The battery module according to claim 2 , wherein the guide is formed in a corner of the panel.

         6 . A barrier of a rechargeable battery, comprising:
a pair of panels facing each other; a plurality of protrusions formed on a surface of each panel that faces the other panel such that the protrusions of each of the panels are adjoined to the protrusions of the other panel; a jointing hole formed in corresponding positions of each panel; a locking pin inserted into the jointing hole of each panel to combine the pair of panels with each other; and wherein a length of the locking pin corresponds with a thickness of the barrier.

7 . A battery module including two or more barriers positioned along a longitudinal length of the module at a substantially constant interval, each barrier comprising:
two or more pairs of substantially parallel panels extending perpendicular to the longitudinal length of the module; protrusions protruding from surfaces of each of the panels that face the other panel of the corresponding pair, individual protrusions of each panel having locations that correspond a respective protrusion of the other panel; and locking pins inserted through each panel of each pair at correspond respective locations of each panel to secure each panel to the other panel of the corresponding pair.

8 . The battery module according to claim 7 , wherein unit batteries are disposed at surfaces of the panels opposite to the surfaces from which the protrusions protrude.

9 . The battery module according to claim 7 , wherein the locking pins secure the panels of each pair together such that respective ends of the corresponding protrusions of opposite panels contact each other.

10 . The battery module according to claim 9 , wherein the ends of the protrusions comprise flat surfaces.
