Abstract

Embodiments of an apparatus, system and method are described for a mobile computing device. A mobile computing device may comprise, for example, an enclosure arranged to support a display and one or more processor circuits, the enclosure having an enlarged portion at one side of the enclosure arranged to allow a user to clutch the enclosure with one hand at the one side, the enlarged portion having a thickness that is larger than a thickness of another portion of the enclosure, and the enlarged portion defining a cavity arranged to support one or more energy storage modules. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

         38 . A mobile computing device, comprising:
 an enclosure to support a display and one or more processor circuits, wherein the enclosure has an enlarged portion at one side of the enclosure to allow a user to clutch the enclosure with one hand at the one side, the enlarged portion has a thickness that is larger than a thickness of another portion of the enclosure, and the enlarged portion houses at least a portion of one or more energy storage modules, and an end of the enlarged portion is to include a power button.   
     
     
         39 . The mobile computing device of  claim 38 , wherein the one or more processor circuits comprise at least one multicore processor. 
     
     
         40 . The mobile computing device of  claim 38 , wherein the enclosure is further to support a non-volatile internal memory. 
     
     
         41 . The mobile computing device of  claim 38 , wherein the display comprises a touchscreen. 
     
     
         42 . The mobile computing device of  claim 38 , further comprising one or more sensors, wherein the one or more sensors is to include one or more of an accelerometer, a compass, a global positioning system (GPS), a light sensor, and a camera. 
     
     
         43 . The mobile computing device of  claim 42 , wherein the sensor comprises a camera, and the camera is oriented to be centered above the display. 
     
     
         44 . The mobile computing device of  claim 38 , further comprising the one or more energy storage modules, wherein at least one of the energy storage modules is a rechargeable energy storage module. 
     
     
         45 . The mobile computing device of  claim 38 , further comprising a device port. 
     
     
         46 . The mobile computing device of  claim 38 , wherein the enlarged portion is at least partially cylindrical. 
     
     
         47 . A tablet computing device comprising:
 an enclosure to include a substantially rounded side portion, wherein the rounded side has a diameter larger than a thickness of another portion of the enclosure, the other portion of the enclosure frames a display screen of the tablet computing device, the rounded side portion includes at least a portion of a compartment to at least partially enclose one or more energy storage modules, and an end of the rounded side portion includes a device connector port.   
     
     
         48 . The tablet computing device of  claim 47 , wherein the end comprises a substantially circular end. 
     
     
         49 . The tablet computing device of  claim 47 , wherein the other portion extends from the rounded end portion. 
     
     
         50 . The tablet computing device of  claim 49 , wherein the other portion is smoothly integrated with the rounded end portion. 
     
     
         51 . The tablet computing device of  claim 47 , wherein the enclosure provides an opening for at least one I/O port of the tablet computing device. 
     
     
         52 . The tablet computing device of  claim 51 , wherein information is to be communicated through the at least one I/O port. 
     
     
         53 . The tablet computing device of  claim 47 , wherein the energy storage modules comprise rechargeable energy storage modules. 
     
     
         54 . The tablet computing device of  claim 47 , further comprising a camera, wherein the other portion includes an opening for a lens of the camera. 
     
     
         55 . A system comprising:
 one or more hardware components, wherein the hardware components comprise at least a processor device and a camera; and   a housing to surround the one or more hardware components, wherein the housing comprises a substantially cylindrical first portion and a substantially flat second portion with a substantially uniform thickness, the first portion has a diameter larger than the thickness of the second portion, the second portion seamlessly extends from the first portion, and the second portion includes a window for a lens of the camera.   
     
     
         56 . The system of  claim 55 , wherein at least a portion of the housing is made of rigid plastic. 
     
     
         57 . The system of  claim 55 , wherein at least a portion of the housing is made of metal. 
     
     
         58 . The system of  claim 55 , wherein the housing provides for at least one connector port at the first portion. 
     
     
         59 . An apparatus comprising:
 an enclosure to surround one or more components of a computing device, wherein the components include one or more processor circuits, the enclosure has an enlarged portion at one side of the enclosure, the enlarged portion has a thickness in a first dimension that is at least double the thickness of another portion of the enclosure in the first dimension.   
     
     
         60 . The apparatus of  claim 59 , wherein the enlarged portion has a substantially cylindrical shape and the remainder of the enclosure comprises a substantially rectangular, flat surface. 
     
     
         61 . The apparatus of  claim 60 , wherein an end of the enlarged portion includes a power button of the computing device and the end is substantially circular end in shape. 
     
     
         62 . The apparatus of  claim 59 , further comprising the one or more components. 
     
     
         63 . The apparatus of  claim 59 , wherein at least a portion of the remainder of the enclosure is to frame a touchscreen display and a lens of a camera included in the one or more components. 
     
     
         64 . A system comprising:
 a multicore processor;   one or more network adapters to support WiFi and Bluetooth;   a camera;   a plurality of sensors including an accelerometer, a compass, a global positioning system, and a brightness sensor;   a non-volatile memory;   a touchscreen display; and   a housing to support and surround the processor, network adapters, memory, and the plurality of sensors, wherein the housing comprises a substantially cylindrical first portion and a substantially flat second portion with a substantially uniform thickness, wherein the first portion has a diameter larger than the thickness of the second portion, the second portion comprises a frame around the display, a lens of the camera is positioned within the frame, the first portion is to enclose at least a portion of one or more energy storage modules, a device connector port is positioned on an end of the first portion of the housing, and the housing is made, at least in part, of rigid plastic.   
     
     
         65 . The system of  claim 64 , further comprising the one or more energy storage modules, wherein the energy storage modules comprise rechargeable energy storage modules.
