Abstract
An electric rocking chair equipped with an electric device engendering automatically an in and out movement of the chair without there being a push by the user. The chair includes an armature deposited on the top of a support base containing a displacement device. The armature is fixed to the base in pivots allowing moving the chair front to back by means of a seesaw operation. The device includes an electric engine coupled with a worm gear at the output of which is fixed a gear the moving of a horizontal arm with an elbow which acts on the armature so as to produce the in and out movement of the chair. A control lever within reach of a user allows to command the engine and to engage the in and out movement or to stop it.

An electric rocking chair having a seat ( 64 ) comprising an armature ( 25 ) comprising a link of seat ( 45 ) overlead on a pair of pendulum ( 48 , 58 ), and in combination with a rotative assembly ( 31 ) with support means ( 22 ) therefor, said rotative assembly comprising a gear ( 24 ) and a tanslational arm ( 28 ) radially mounted thereto, said translational arm acting on said link of seat and displacing said pair of pendulum ( 48 , 58 ) thereby causing a rocking movement of said seat ( 64 ).
2 . The electric rocking chair of claim 1 wherein said rotative assembly comprises an electric motor ( 34 ) having a rotationnal speed of 1750 rpm in combination with a wormgear ( 36 ) reducing said rotational speed to 43 rpm and turning said gear ( 24 ).
3 . The electric rocking chair of claim 2 wherein said gear turns at 9 to 10 rpm.
4 . The rocking chair of claim 1 wherein:
said means of support ( 22 ) comprise at least two upright corners ( 54 , 54 ′) positioned respectivelly at the back and at the front of said support;
said pair of pendulum ( 48 , 58 ) is pivotedly mounted ( 52 , 53 ) at top ends of said upright corners and comprising bottom pivots ( 50 , 51 );
said seat comprising front and back legs ( 21 , 23 ) intended to be fixed at said bottom pivots ( 50 , 51 ).
5 . The rocking chair of claim 4 wherein said means of support comprise a rectangular frame comprising four upright corners with two at the front and two at the back.
6 . The rocking chair of claim 5 wherein said pendulums, said legs and said pivots number four.
7 . The rocking chair of claim 1 wherein said translational arm ( 28 ) is pivotedly ( 40 ) connected to a horizontal arm ( 42 ) acting on said link ( 45 ) of seat.
8 . The rocking chair of claim 7 wherein said horizontal arm comprises an elbow ( 44 ) to protect neighbouring structures from scratches or breaking during the rise and the ascent of said pendulums.
9 . The rocking chair of claim 8 wherein said horizontal arm comprises a hand ( 43 ) intended to seize said link ( 45 ) of seat.
10 . The rocking chair of claim 4 wherein said armature ( 25 ) is linked to curved legs in a convex way to move closer bottom pivots ( 50 , 51 ) with regard to top pivots ( 52 , 53 ).
