Abstract
A climate controlled cargo container includes at least one panel ( 50 ) including: an outer layer ( 52 ); an inner layer ( 54 ); a foam ( 58 ) positioned in between the inner layer ( 54 ) and the outer layer ( 52 ); and a plurality of fiber tubes ( 60 ) embedded within the foam. Another climate controlled cargo container includes at least one panel including: an outer layer; an inner layer; a foam positioned in between the inner layer and the outer layer; and a phase change material positioned between the inner layer and the outer layer.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A climate controlled cargo container comprising:
at least one panel including: an outer layer; an inner layer; a foam positioned in between the inner layer and the outer layer; and a plurality of fiber tubes embedded within the foam.
2 . The climate controlled cargo container of claim 1 wherein:
the foam is an open cell foam.
3 . The climate controlled cargo container of claim 1 further comprising:
an other foam, the other foam being positioned between the outer layer and the foam and the other foam being positioned between the inner layer and the foam.
4 . The climate controlled cargo container of claim 3 wherein:
the other foam is a closed cell foam.
5 . The climate controlled cargo container of claim 1 wherein:
the fiber tubes are hollow fiber membrane tubes.
6 . The climate controlled cargo container of claim 1 further comprising:
a vacuum applied to the foam.
7 . The climate controlled cargo container of claim 1 wherein:
the fibers tubes are embedded in the foam upon blowing the foam between the inner layer and the outer layer.
8 . The climate controlled cargo container of claim 1 wherein:
the fibers tubes are positioned between the inner layer and the outer layer prior to blowing the foam between the inner layer and the outer layer.
9 . The climate controlled cargo container of claim 1 wherein:
the foam includes an aerogel.
10 . The climate controlled cargo container of claim 3 wherein:
the other foam includes an aerogel.
11 . The climate controlled cargo container of claim 1 further comprising:
a manifold coupled to the fiber tubes, the manifold for coupling with a vacuum pump.
12 . A climate controlled cargo container comprising:
at least one panel including: an outer layer; an inner layer; a foam positioned in between the inner layer and the outer layer; and a phase change material positioned between the inner layer and the outer layer.
13 . The climate controlled cargo container of claim 12 wherein:
the foam is a closed cell foam.
14 . The climate controlled cargo container of claim 12 wherein:
the phase change material is a phase change material panel positioned between sections of the foam.
15 . The climate controlled cargo container of claim 13 wherein:
the phase change material panel is an encapsulated phase change material panel placed between the sections of the foam.
16 . The climate controlled cargo container of claim 13 wherein:
the phase change material panel is pumped between the sections of the foam.
17 . The climate controlled cargo container of claim 12 wherein:
the foam is an open cell foam.
18 . The climate controlled cargo container of claim 17 wherein:
the phase change material is phase change material particles embedded in the open cell foam.
19 . The climate controlled cargo container of claim 12 wherein:
a melting point of the phase change material is pre-determined in response to a desired shipping temperature of the cargo container.
20 . The climate controlled cargo container of claim 12 further comprising:
a refrigeration unit including a compressor, a condenser, an expansion valve and an evaporator.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
