What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A rescue time tracking device for communicating information to a rescuer, the device comprising:
 an adhesive layer on a first side of the rescue time tracking device for affixing the rescue time tracking device to a victim;   timing circuitry configured to maintain time information relative to a time of initialization of the device; and   a display portion on the second side of the rescue time tracking device configured to display the time information.
