Abstract

An arm and/or leg stretching apparatus and method where one end of a steel (or other rigid material) cable can be connected to a post, tree or to anything that it can be wrapped around, and the other end fits a cuff that can be placed around the wrist or ankle so that the user can stretch by leaning or pulling against the cable. An alternate embodiment of the present invention can use a waist belt where again, the user uses his or her own weight to stretch against the cable. In the case of an arm stretch, the cuff relieves the user of having to grip something by attaching around the wrist.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A stretch apparatus comprising:
an exercise apparatus including a non-extendable cable, said cable having closed attachment loops on each end; a cuff, said cuff being adapted to be worn on a human extremity, said cuff having a tightening ring, and least one attachment ring, where said cuff is a wrist cuff; said attachment ring on said cuff attached to first of said closed attachment loops; a removable clip on a second of said closed attachment loops allowing said cable to be fixedly secured to a fixed anchor point, whereby a user can perform stretch exercises.

2 . The stretch apparatus of claim 1 wherein said attachment ring slides laterally along a portion of said cuff causing said cuff to tighten.

3 . The stretch apparatus of claim 1 wherein said removable clip is a carabiner clip.

4 . The stretch apparatus of claim 1 wherein said cuff has an interior region adapted to fit around a wrist and an exterior region, said interior region being made of felt-like material.

5 . The stretch apparatus of claim 5 wherein said exterior material is weather and wear resistant.

         6 . A stretch apparatus comprising:
an exercise apparatus including a non-extendable cable, said cable having closed attachment loops on each end; a cuff, said cuff being adapted to be worn on a human extremity, said cuff having a tightening ring, and at least one attachment ring, wherein said cuff is an ankle cuff; said attachment ring on said cuff attached to a first of said closed attachment loops; a removable clip on a second of said loops allowing said cable to be fixedly secured to a fixed anchor point, whereby a user can perform stretch exercises.

7 . The stretch apparatus of claim 6 wherein said attachment ring slides laterally along a portion of said cuff causing said cuff to tighten.

8 . The stretch apparatus of claim 6 wherein said removable clip is a carabiner clip.

9 . The stretch apparatus of claim 6 wherein said cuff has an interior region adapted to fit around an ankle and an exterior region, said interior region being made of felt-like material.

10 . The stretch apparatus of claim 9 wherein said exterior material is weather and wear resistant.

         11 . A stretch exercise apparatus comprising:
a stretch exercise apparatus including a non-extendable metal cable, said cable having closed attachment loops on each end; a cuff, said cuff being adapted to be worn on a human arm, said cuff having a tightening ring, and at least one attachment ring, wherein said cuff is a wrist cuff; said attachment ring on said cuff attached to a first of said closed attachment loops; a removable clip on a second of said loops allowing said cable to be fixedly secured to a fixed anchor point, whereby a user can perform stretch exercises.

12 . The stretch apparatus of claim 11 wherein said attachment ring slides laterally along a portion of said cuff causing said cuff to tighten.

13 . The stretch apparatus of claim 11 wherein said removable clip is a carabiner clip.

14 . The stretch apparatus of claim 11 wherein said cuff has an interior region adapted to fit around a wrist and an exterior region, said interior region being made of felt-like material.

15 . The stretch apparatus of claim 14 wherein said exterior material is weather and wear resistant.

         16 . A stretch exercise apparatus comprising:
a stretch exercise apparatus including a non-extendable, cable, said cable having closed attachment loops on each end; a cuff, said cuff being adapted to be worn on a human leg, said cuff having a tightening ring, and at least one attachment ring, wherein said cuff is an ankle cuff; said attachment ring on said cuff attached to a first of said closed attachment loops. A removable clip on a second of said loops allowing said cable to be fixedly secured to a fixed anchor point, whereby a user can perform stretch exercises.

17 . The stretch apparatus of claim 16 wherein said attachment ring slides laterally along a portion of said cuff causing said cuff to tighten.

18 . The stretch apparatus of claim 16 wherein said removable clip is a carabiner clip.

19 . The stretch apparatus of claim 16 wherein said cuff has an interior region adapted to fit around an ankle and an exterior region, said interior region being made of felt-like material.

20 . The stretch apparatus of claim 19 wherein said exterior material is weather and wear resistant.
