Abstract
A method includes transmitting a first set of transmission signals over an operating frequency band. The method includes detecting if a second set of transmission signals are transmitted adjacent the operating frequency band and reducing power to a subset of the first set of transmission signals when the second set of transmission signals are detected.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A device comprising:
A. an antennae; B. a transmitter having a data input, a power control input, and an output coupled to the antennae, the transmitter generating operating transmission signals over an operating frequency band in response to data signals on the data input and at varying power levels in response to power signals on the power input; C. detector circuitry having an antennae receiving any transmission signals adjacent the operating frequency band and a detector output carrying a detector signal indicating whether any transmission signals adjacent the operating frequency band are received; and D. a processor having a detector input coupled to the detector output, a data output coupled to the data input, and a power output coupled to the power input, the processor issuing a varying power control signal on the power output in response to the detector signal.
2 . The device of claim 1 in which the operating transmission signals include an acknowledgement (ACK) signal.
3 . The device of claim 2 in which the processor provides data signals on the data output in frames and subframes, the data signals including an ACK data signal, and the processor provides a power signal on the power output reducing the power of the ACK signal or disabling the ACK signal during one half of a subframe.
4 . The device of claim 1 in which the operating transmission signals are transmitted over an operating frequency band of a long term evolution (LTE) protocol or over an operating frequency band of a worldwide interoperability for microwave access (WiMAX) protocol.
5 . The device of claim 1 in which the transmission signals adjacent the operating frequency band are transmitted in an industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) band.
6 . The device of claim 5 in which the ISM band includes a wireless local area network protocol (WLAN), a Bluetooth protocol, an IEEE 802.11/WiFi protocol, or an IEEE 802.15.4 ZigBee protocol.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
