Information Display System and Method

Abstract

The invention disclosed herein is directed to a system and method for displaying graphics, text, animation, video and other content. In one embodiment of the invention, the system comprises a three-dimensional “Display Carousel” system. The system may include one or more display windows, each of which is capable of displaying different content. The configuration of the windows may give the appearance of rotating like a carousel and also of the carousel and/or images being three-dimensional. Other features of the invention may include functionality which permits the uploading and downloading of content, statistical data gathering, and revenue generation.

         21 . A system for display of content in real time comprising:
 a carousel integrated into a website or webpage that is available on the Internet and that comprises embedded hypertext, said carousel comprises one or more windows containing said content that is unique to each of said one or more windows; and   a server system comprising:
 a database configured to store said content in said server system; 
 a processor in communication with said database, said processor is aided by memory and processes said content to be displayed in said carousel; and 
 a display engine in communication with said processor and said carousel, 
   wherein said display engine receives said content from said processor and instantly delivers said content to said one or more windows of said carousel for display when said carousel appears with said website or webpage on a web browser, whereby said one or more windows of said carousel appear to rotate relative to said website or webpage at a predetermined rate of speed.   
     
     
         22 . The system of  claim 21  wherein said carousel may be displayed in an e-mail, a blog, a media player, or other computerized device. 
     
     
         23 . The system of  claim 21  wherein said content comprises any one or more of photographs, graphics, text, animation, audio recording, video recording, and hyperlinks. 
     
     
         24 . The system of  claim 21  wherein said content displayed in said one or more display windows appears to be three-dimensional. 
     
     
         25 . The system of  claim 21  wherein said one or more windows rotate continuously. 
     
     
         26 . The system of  claim 21  wherein said one or more windows pause intermittently for a predetermined time while rotating. 
     
     
         27 . The system of  claim 21  wherein said one or more windows rotate only when prompted. 
     
     
         28 . The system of  claim 21  wherein access to position and time in said one or more windows of said carousel may be purchased. 
     
     
         29 . The system of  claim 21  wherein said display of said content may be limited by one or more of time, amount, and type. 
     
     
         30 . The system of  claim 21  wherein said content in one of said one or more windows displayed in said carousel alternates as said one or more windows rotate. 
     
     
         31 . The system of  claim 21  wherein said content alternates between said windows as said one or more windows rotate. 
     
     
         32 . The system of  claim 21  wherein said content is displayed in a manner that is specific to local advertising in a geographic area. 
     
     
         33 . A system for advertising comprising:
 a display carousel integrated into a website or webpage that is available on the Internet and that comprises embedded hypertext, said display carousel comprising one or more windows that display advertising content;   a server system comprising:
 a database configured to store said advertising content in said server system; 
 a processor in communication with said database, said processor is aided by memory and processes said advertising content retrieved from said database to be displayed in said one or more windows; and 
 a display engine in communication with said processor and said display carousel, wherein said display engine instantly delivers said advertising content to said one or more windows when said display carousel appears with said website or webpage in a web browser; and 
   a portal through which position and time in said one or more windows can be purchased for said advertising content to be displayed and said advertising content can be loaded through said portal to be displayed in said one or more windows;   whereby said one or more windows displaying said advertising content appear to rotate relative to said website or webpage at a predetermined rate of speed when said website or webpage comprising said display carousel is displayed in said web browser.   
     
     
         34 . The system of  claim 33  wherein said advertising content comprises any one or more of photographs, graphics, text, animation, audio recording, video recording, and hyperlinks. 
     
     
         35 . The system of  claim 33  wherein said advertising content displayed in said one or more windows appears to be three-dimensional. 
     
     
         36 . The system of  claim 33  wherein said one or more windows of said display carousel revolve continuously. 
     
     
         37 . The system of  claim 33  wherein said one or more windows pause intermittently for a predetermined time while revolving.

         39 . The system of  claim 33  wherein said display of said advertising content comprises alternating said advertising content in one of said one or more windows displayed in said carousel. 
     
     
         40 . The system of  claim 33  wherein said display of said advertising content comprises alternating said images of said advertising content between said one or more windows displayed in said display carousel. 
     
     
         41 . The system of  claim 33  wherein said display of said advertising content is specific to local advertising in a geographic area. 
     
     
         42 . The system of  claim 33  wherein said advertising content is unique to each of said one or more windows. 
     
     
         43 . The system of  claim 33  wherein said advertising content displayed in said one or more windows is instantly updated when said advertising content is uploaded through said portal. 
     
     
         44 . The system of  claim 33  wherein said portal comprises an account through which said advertising content can be added to, changed within, or replaced in said system. 
     
     
         45 . The system of  claim 44  wherein said advertising content displayed in said one or more windows is instantly updated when said advertising content is added to, changed within, or replaced in said system. 
     
     
         46 . A method for managing an advertising platform on a computerized system comprising the steps of:
 providing a display carousel for integrating into a website or webpage that is accessible on the Internet and comprises embedded hypertext, said display carousel comprising:
 one or more display windows that display advertiser content delivered to said one or more display windows from a display engine in communication with a processor of said computerized system, 
   operating said processer aided by memory with a database that stores said advertising content in said computerized system, wherein said processor retrieves said advertising content from said database and then processes said advertising content for said display engine to deliver to said one or more windows when said display carousel is displayed with said website or webpage on a web browser;   providing an advertising link for integrating into said user website or webpage; said advertising link when integrated into said website or webpage enables the purchase of position and time in said one or more windows and upload of said advertiser content into said computerized system; and   instantly delivering said advertising content to said one or more display windows when said website or webpage comprising said display carousel is displayed in said web browser, whereby said one or more display windows revolve at a predetermined rate of speed.
