Abstract

Disclosed are a digital device and a control method thereof The digital device includes a communication unit to transmit/receive a signal with an external device; a gesture sensor unit to sense a gesture with respect to the digital device; and a processor to control the communication unit and the gesture sensor unit, and to provide a first mode corresponding to a first event when occurrence of the first event is detected; transmit a first signal, commanding provision of a second mode corresponding to a second event, to the external device when occurrence of the second event is detected during provision of the first mode; and switch from the first mode to the second mode when detecting a first gesture with respect to the digital device after transmission of the first signal.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A wearable device comprising:
a communication unit configured to transmit and receive a signal with a digital device being operated by a user of the wearable device; a display unit configured to display an image; a processor configured to control the communication unit and the display unit, wherein the processor is further configured to: receive a first signal from the digital device, wherein the first signal is transmitted from the digital device when a second event is detected by the digital device which is in a first mode, in response to the first signal, execute a second mode on the wearable device and display a second event information detected by the digital device on the display unit of the wearable device, and in response to a first gesture of the digital device, switch the wearable device from the second mode to the first mode, wherein the first gesture is made by moving the digital device downward.

2 . The wearable device according to claim 1 , wherein the first gesture of the digital device is detected by the digital device.

3 . The wearable device according to claim 2 , wherein the first mode is an incoming call mode, the second event is an incoming message event and the second mode is an incoming message mode.

4 . The wearable device according to claim 3 , wherein the incoming message event is an incoming event which most recently occurs to the digital device.

5 . The wearable device according to claim 1 , further comprising a gesture sensor unit configured to sense a gesture with respect to the wearable device,
wherein the processor is further configured to detect a second gesture of the wearable device.

6 . The wearable device according to claim 5 , wherein the second gesture is made by moving the wearable device upward.

7 . The wearable device according to claim 5 , the processor is further configured to display the second event information on the display unit until the second gesture is detected.

8 . The wearable device according to claim 7 , the processor is further configured to transmit a second signal to the digital device in response to the second gesture.

9 . The wearable device according to claim 8 , wherein the second signal causes the digital device to be switched from the first mode to the second mode.

10 . The wearable device according to claim 7 , wherein the processor is further configured to switch the wearable device from the second mode to the first mode in response to the first gesture and a detection of the second gesture.

11 . The wearable device according to claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to provide a notification in response to the first signal.

12 . The wearable device according to claim 1 , further comprising a position acquisition unit acquiring a position of the wearable device.

13 . The wearable device according to claim 12 , wherein the processor is further configured to transmit a third signal regarding a first altitude of the wearable device to the digital device, and wherein the first gesture is detected based on the first altitude by the digital device.

14 . The wearable device according to claim 1 , the processor is further configured to switch the wearable device form the incoming message mode to the incoming call mode, if the first gesture occurs within a predetermined time after the first signal is received.

15 . A control method of a wearable device comprising:
receiving a first signal from a digital device in communication with the wearable device, wherein the first signal is transmitted from the digital device when a second event is detected by the digital device which is in a first mode; in response to the first signal, executing a second mode on the wearable device and displaying a second event information detected by the digital device on a display unit of the wearable device; and in response to a first gesture of the digital device, switching the wearable device from the second mode to the first mode, wherein the first gesture is made by moving the digital device downward.

16 . The control method according to claim 15 , wherein the first mode is an incoming call mode, the second event is an incoming message event and the second mode is an incoming message mode

17 . The control method according to claim 15 , further comprising:
detecting a second gesture of the wearable device; and terminating a display of the second event information on the display unit in response to the detected second gesture.

18 . The control method according to claim 17 , wherein the second gesture is made by moving the wearable device upward.

19 . The control method according to claim 17 , further comprising:
transmitting a second signal to the digital device in response to the second gesture, wherein the second signal causes the digital device to be switched from the first mode to the second mode.

20 . The control method according to claim 15 , further comprising:
providing a notification in response to the first signal.
