Abstract

An animal tracking apparatus includes a location determining component; a sensor operable to sense a condition of the animal; memory; and a processor. The processor is operable to automatically store location information corresponding to the current geographic location of the apparatus in response to a sensed condition of the animal. The processor is also operable to monitor the sensor to identify a desired response to a received command and to store response information corresponding to the response.

Having thus described various embodiments of the technology, what is claimed as new and desired to be protected by Letters Patent includes the following: 
     
         1 . A system for providing information regarding hunting grounds, the system comprising:
 a memory; and   a processor operable to:
 receive animal tracking information from a plurality of users, the received animal tracking information including location information and sensed condition information corresponding to a plurality of hunting dogs; 
 store the received animal tracking information in the memory; 
 generate map information corresponding to the received animal tracking information; and 
 present the generated map information through a web interface to one or more of the users. 
   
     
     
         2 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the sensed condition information indicates dog barking and the generated map information indicates locations at which one or more of the hunting dogs were sensed barking. 
     
     
         3 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the sensed condition information indicates going on point and the generated map information indicates locations at which one or more of the hunting dogs were sensed going on point. 
     
     
         4 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the sensed condition information includes at least one of a posture of the hunting dog, an orientation of the hunting dog, a temperature of the hunting dog, a barking of the hunting dog, or a heart rate of the hunting dog. 
     
     
         5 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the processor is further operable to analyze the received tracking data to provide a ranking of the one or more hunting dogs. 
     
     
         6 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the sensed information includes stimulation information and the generated map information indicates locations at which one or more of the hunting dogs were subject to stimulation. 
     
     
         7 . A computer-implemented method for providing information regarding hunting grounds, the method comprising:
 receiving animal tracking information from a plurality of users via a communications network, the received animal tracking information including location information and sensed condition information corresponding to a plurality of hunting dogs;   storing the received animal tracking information in a memory;   generating map information corresponding to the received animal tracking information; and   presenting the generated map information through a web site to one or more of the users.   
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 7 , wherein the sensed condition information indicates dog barking and the generated map information indicates locations at which one or more of the hunting dogs were sensed barking. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 7 , wherein the sensed condition information indicates going on point and the generated map information indicates locations at which one or more of the hunting dogs were sensed going on point. 
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 7 , wherein the sensed condition information includes at least one of a posture of the hunting dog, an orientation of the hunting dog, a temperature of the hunting dog, a barking of the hunting dog, or a heart rate of the hunting dog. 
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 7 , further including analyzing the received tracking data to provide a ranking of the one or more hunting dogs and sharing the ranking through the web site. 
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 7 , wherein the sensed information includes stimulation information and the generated map information indicates locations at which one or more of the hunting dogs were subject to stimulation. 
     
     
         13 . A system for providing information regarding hunting grounds, the system comprising:
 a plurality of animal tracking apparatuses each operable to be worn by a hunting dog, each of the animal tracking apparatuses operable to generate animal tracking information including location information and sensed condition information; and   a web site operable to receive animal tracking information generated by the plurality of animal tracking apparatuses, generate map information corresponding to the received animal tracking information, and present the generated map information through a web interface to one or more users.   
     
     
         14 . The system of  claim 13 , wherein the web site is configured to communicate with a personal computing device to receive the animal tracking information. 
     
     
         15 . The system of  claim 14 , wherein each of the animal tracking apparatuses are configured to communicate with one or more personal computing devices to provide the animal tracking information thereto. 
     
     
         16 . The system of  claim 14 , wherein the personal computing device is selected from the group consisting of a smartphone, a tablet computer, a desktop computer, and a laptop computer. 
     
     
         17 . The system of  claim 13 , wherein the sensed condition information indicates dog barking and the generated map information indicates locations at which one or more of the hunting dogs were sensed barking. 
     
     
         18 . The system of  claim 13 , wherein the sensed condition information indicates going on point and the generated map information indicates locations at which one or more of the hunting dogs were sensed going on point. 
     
     
         19 . The system of  claim 13 , wherein the sensed condition information includes at least one of a posture of the hunting dog, an orientation of the hunting dog, a temperature of the hunting dog, a barking of the hunting dog, or a heart rate of the hunting dog. 
     
     
         20 . The system of  claim 13 , wherein the web site is further configured to analyze the received tracking data to provide a ranking of the one or more hunting dogs.
