Shoe

Abstract

A bowling shoe having a first portion and a second portion wherein the second portion is operable to protect the sole of the first portion. The first portion of the bowling shoe includes a sole having an upper portion secured thereto forming an interior volume. The upper portion further includes an opening operable to receive a human foot therethrough. A second portion includes a sole having an upper surface and a lower surface wherein the second portion is releasably secured to the first portion and wherein the sole of the second portion substantially covers the sole of the first portion. The second portion further includes a first flap and a second flap that are operable to releasably secure the second portion to the first portion. A pocket is present on the second flap and is manufactured from a transparent material.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A bowling shoe comprising:
 a first portion, said first portion further including a sole and an upper portion, said upper portion having an opening and an interior volume, said opening operable to receive a foot therein;   a second portion, said second portion being releasably secured to said first portion, said second portion having a sole, said sole of said second portion operable to substantially cover the sole of said first portion.   
     
     
         2 . The bowling shoe as recited in  claim 1 , wherein said second portion further includes a first flap and a second flap, said first flap and said second flap being opposedly mounted to said second portion, said first flap and said second flap being operable to releasably secure said second portion to said first portion. 
     
     
         3 . The bowling shoe as recited in  claim 2 , wherein said sole of said second portion is manufactured from a material having a coefficient of friction operable to promote a slidable relationship with the sole of said first portion. 
     
     
         4 . The bowling shoe as recited in  claim 3 , wherein said sole of said second portion includes a bottom surface, said bottom surface being manufactured from a material that is impermeable. 
     
     
         5 . The bowling show as recited in  claim 4 , wherein said sole of said second portion further includes a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge, said first lateral edge and said second lateral edge being straight in manner and parallel. 
     
     
         6 . The bowling shoe as recited in  claim 5 , and further including at least one pocket, said at least one pocket being secured to said second portion. 
     
     
         7 . The bowling shoe as recited in  claim 6 , wherein said at least one pocket is manufactured from a transparent material. 
     
     
         8 . A bowling shoe comprising:
 a first portion, said first portion further including a sole, said sole being manufactured from a durable material, said sole further having an upper portion secured thereto, said upper portion forming an interior volume of sufficient size to accommodate a human foot therein, said upper portion having an opening, said opening operable to receive a human foot therein;   a second portion, said second portion being releasably secured to said first portion, said second portion having a sole, said sole including a first end and a second end, said sole of said second portion operable to substantially cover the sole of said first portion so as to provide protection thereof.   
     
     
         9 . The bowling shoe as recited in  claim 8 , wherein said sole of said second portion further includes a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge, said first lateral edge and said second lateral edge extending the length of the sole intermediate said first end and said second end, said first lateral edge and said second lateral edge being straight in manner and parallel. 
     
     
         10 . The bowling shoe as recited in  claim 9 , wherein said sole of said second portion further includes an upper surface and a lower surface, said upper surface of said sole of said second portion operable to slidably engage with said sole of said first portion. 
     
     
         11 . The bowling shoe as recited in  claim 10 , wherein said lower surface of said sole of said second portion is manufactured from an impermeable material. 
     
     
         12 . The bowling shoe as recited in  claim 11 , and further including a first flap and a second flap, said first flap and said second flap being secured to said second portion, said first flap and said second flap operable to releasably secure said second portion to said first portion. 
     
     
         13 . The bowling shoe as recited in  claim 12 , and further including at least one pocket, said at least one pocket being secured to said second portion. 
     
     
         14 . The bowling shoe as recited in  claim 13 , wherein said sole of said second portion is manufactured to a thickness having a range of one-quarter inch to three-eighths inch. 
     
     
         15 . A bowling shoe comprising:
 a first portion, said first portion further including a sole, said sole being manufactured from a durable material, said sole further having an upper portion secured thereto, said upper portion forming an interior volume of sufficient size to accommodate a human foot therein, said upper portion having an opening, said opening operable to receive a human foot therein;   a second portion, said second portion being releasably secured to said first portion, said second portion having a sole, said sole having an upper surface and a lower surface, said sole including a first end and a second end, said first end and said second end being rounded in shape, said second portion further including a first flap and a second flap, said first flap and said second flap being proximate said first end of said second portion, said sole of said second portion operable to substantially cover the sole of said first portion so as to provide protection thereof.   
     
     
         16 . The bowling shoe as recited in  claim 15 , wherein said sole of said second portion further includes a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge, said first lateral edge and said second lateral edge extending the length of the sole intermediate said first end and said second end, said first lateral edge and said second lateral edge being straight in manner and parallel. 
     
     
         17 . The bowling shoe as recited in  claim 16 , wherein said upper surface of said sole of said second portion is operable to slidably engage with said sole of said first portion. 
     
     
         18 . The bowling shoe as recited in  claim 17 , wherein said lower surface of said sole of said second portion is manufactured from an impermeable material. 
     
     
         19 . The bowling shoe as recited in  claim 18 , and further including a pocket, said pocket being secured to said second flap, said pocket being manufactured from a transparent material. 
     
     
         20 . The bowling shoe as recited in  claim 19 , wherein said sole of said second portion is manufactured to a thickness having a range of one-quarter inch to three-eighths inch.
